Looking for a good Italian restuarant in The Hill and also looking for a place to get good ribs/BBQ.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Gian Tony's

Frank Papa's (the Escarole is incredible as is the Filetto Mudega and Monte Carlo)

for ribs - Super Smokers (located in Eureka) Stay away from Bandana's

I agree with Charlie Gitto's
I personally think Cunetto's is not good at all. (used to be)
Hopefully, my neighbor doesn't get on this board. Cindy Cunetto :D

Born and Raised on the Hill and as of two days ago now residing on the Hill once again.

The Steak mudega and Ziti con Vodka are my favorites.
Go to LoRussos just off the hill on Watson. http://www.lorussos.com/

Don't go to Gittos the owners are scum.

If you want something different and good, try modesto's it is a tapas resturant. It is on the hill also.

For BBQ you gotta go to Bandana's. Many locations around town family owned and well worth it. Dry rub smoked meat that is fall off the bone good

Everyone, quit saying Cunetto's  OVERCOOKED NOODLES and never consistent

Also, although LoRusso's is VERY good and I would recommend it, I'd be careful listening to a guy who will eat 4+ dry bratwurst with no sauce.

Also, Steve, if you're talking about what I'm thinking about a steak should never have cheese, WWLB, mushrooms, Prosciutto , broccoli (chicken yes, steak no)

Ended up going to Cunetto's and it was decent, not the best I have had, but they give you a ton of food. The noodles didn't taste like they were freshly made.

So for BBQ tomorrow is it Bandana's or Marion's? I tend to stay away from chain restuarants, is Bandan's a chain?

The best italian place is lemoncello in clayton.
Hands down. My roomate's family owns a restuarant on the hill so I am bias for the hill, but anyone who has gone to lemoncello will back me up!

Smokey bones isn't even close to a "local chain" They are part of Darden (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, and Smokey bones)

If I were you and if you can handle a somewhat hefty bill, I'd say the hell with bbq (st. louis isn't exactly known for bbq) and go to monarch in maplewood.

If you're not happy, I'll send you $5 :D

P.S. To all the Cunetto fans, I told you so
Hasn't been the same since Joe passed away

What do you consider a hefty bill? I am billing a customer back for all of my meals and have to keep my expenses under control.

It won't be cheap, I assure you that. However, if you're not drinking wine, it's well within reason. I ASSURE you, you will not be dissappointed.
