I'm looking at redoing my deck and it's 21' so I was trying to find 22' boards so I could run it the whole length rather than having numerous boards. I have not been able to find anything over 20'. Any suggestions? I've tried:

lumber yard supply co
84 Lumber
Lowes
Home Depot

U will most likely have to go to a MIll it's self to get them. I'm not sure where the closest one to U is at. Did U try a Hoods store?? The one out in House spings off of HWY 30 & W have alot of hard to fing lumber and I think (not sure) they will order in what they don't have. It's worth a shot to ask.

I distribute lumber and have worked at sawmills and treating plants. You can find it in treated but it will be very cost prohibitive. Only a few mills cut anything longer than 20' and it commands a premium.

Justin, Try renting one of them board stretchers from Home Depot:dance: JJ- 20' is the max you will find any deck board treated or composite (trex), unless you go 2 a cedar saw mill & then:worried: you
will not like the price.

Add some cripples and bridging and then run a board down the center parallel with the joists. Then you can buy 12' boards and run them to the center board. (or run 2 bands down the center and fill in with 10 footers) (This sort of shows what I'm talking about http://www.hdwoodworking.com/Deck-Edge Detail.JPG )

Or, use 2x decking and run them at a 45 to meet in the middle (half diamond) http://www.home-improvement-and-financing.com/images/DoublediagonaldeckingGIF.gif

Thanks for the ideas however, too much work for me as I'm not that handy :D

An old guy who's been in the lumber bussiness for....well since man started cutting down tree's, anywho had a good idea. Just built a 12 foot deck and then tag another 12 deck to that one making it a 24 foot deck. Tada! Then U have the deck of your dreams eh??
