What other than Reef keeping do you do?

Here are some pics of my favorite Carnivorous plants.

Other Hobbies:

1) Scuba Diving
2) Woodworking.

I am currently in the middle of trying to build a woodshop in my garage. Check out the table saw that I want to get:

Sierra wants to do woodworking as well - so I might spend the extra $$$$ (each $=$1000) to get the SawStop. I could live with myself if I lost a finger, but I don't know if I could live with myself if Sierra accidentally cut off a finger on a tablesaw when the technology exists to prevent it.

I used to think that reef keeping was expensive. It's now my "cheaper" hobby. Of course Stacy had to get into underwater photography. $$$$$ (WTH - $2500 for a underwater case for a $1000K camera?!?!?!)

Those are really cool looking plants! do they just attract insects with their nectar? Do you own some, or just have an interest in them?

I'm into running and scuba diving. Although...since moving back to nyc, I really haven't had a chance to do either lately.

Yep you got it they attract bugs w/ smell and bright colors (who dose'nt like bright colors)then bugs then follow a trail of sweet necter in to a area of the pitcher that is vert slippery and covered w/ waxy plates that the bug can not hold on to and slips into the fluid below.

This is a good pic of the slippery lip.

I have about 25 Nepenthes
And @ one point had about 1450 Sarracenia (My whole back yard was covered by #1 and #5 pots of Sarracenia)
This is Sarracenia

I'm into the Japanese language. I took Japanese at Sac State for about three years, and I've been to Japan twice. Whats funny is I started taking classes just to fill my language requirements... Spanish and Italian were full, and Japanese was all that was left

I'm also into table tennis :D

Anyone up for a good match?

I think ping pong was Parker Brothers version of the game. They're the same game, but if you wanted to get technical, Table Tennis has a couple different rules.

Internationally, its known as table tennis. Here in the states, we just call it ping pong :)

:D

Road Rallyes (TSD and Monte Carlo)
Woodworking
The internet (still... even though I reached the end a few years ago)

Other hobbies besides reefing. You guys have the time to do anything besides your tank.

I guess I need to take up time management as a hobby.

well, when i'm not injured or recovering from injury (as of late)...volleyball (beach, grass), basketball, cycling, triathlon and just trying to stay fit.

jimdogg, whats your tt rating? i used to play back before we had kids :).

I want to do skydiving - but I really don't need another hobby. :P Maybe I will wait until Sierra is old enough, and we can pick that up as a hobby together.

I've played with the local club a few times. Won some matches, lost some matches. But never competed in a tournament. I've been thinking about getting a little more serious with it though :D

Did you compete?

CYCLING is a big one (actually, this is a lifestyle more than a hobby), art, RC models (though I've not done this one for a bit), history, basketball, being a spectator of just about any college sport, collecting and cutting rocks and gems, wine tasting and collecting, trying to follow anything Aerospace related, SpongeBob Squarepants, and studying the migration patterns of the Mexican Free-tail Bat. Of course the kids have curtailed much of the above, except for maybe SpongeBob!
As of late, I've also enjoyed watching Reefugee do his hobbies!
