That looks great Joe. Just getting into the handy man stuff after purchasing my house a few yrs ago. Hate growing up haha.

i maintain ant farms. not the uncle Milton type (yet those are nice farms) but ones with queen ants. i keep them in plaster setups. they are my hobby. i love collecting queens and watching the colony grow from the first set of eggs laid to the 10000 egg :-)

I am also a coin collector!
I used to (not as much anymore) go to the local auction and buy. Buy and sell to make a little profit. I have been so busy with work lately thought this is the only hobby i've had/or not had time for :-)
I guess you could say my 5 month is a hobby cause he gets all the attention now!!

I've been trying to come up with a hobby that I can do in my spare time sitting on the couch watching TV. My wife just took up knitting, so I want to figure out something to do when sitting around. I'm thinking about whittling or carving.

Besides that I watch and play a lot of hockey and brew beer and wine. This spring/summer I'll be starting a couple colonies of honey bees. Hopefully they give me enough honey to use in my beer/wine making to try my hand at a mead.

I felt that reef keeping didn't eat up enough time and money and recently decided to start playing hockey and collecting wrist watches. I haven't gotten into anything too fancy with the watches yet, but have a small collection of different automatics going. Mainly trying to figure out what I like.

I haven't done anything too fancy on the ice yet either. I'm a compelte mess out there, which is actually a lot of fun.

Nice. I've wanted to do it for a few years now. I didn't have time last year, so I had to put it off until this year. There's a beekeeping club that gives free classes to the public every winter in Canandaigua. They will hook you up with a mentor that has been keeping bees for a while, so you can get some first hand experience in the Spring. I'm excited to get the colonies going. I just have to purchase everything (I think I'll be making the hives though).

WOW NICE!!! yea i had a mentor also for my senior project. it was tons of fun!!! you will love it. just be careful with the colony collapse disorder. many many been keepers are loosing their hives over it. part of my senior project was on it.

Do you play in a league or anything? I found an adult zamboni league that was an absolute blast. It got a little boring playing the same people over and over again, but the hands on instructions from the instructor was very nice. Doing drills for 30 minutes or so, and then scrimmaging for 40 minutes was really fun. Too bad it is so darn expensive.

There is a similar thing at another local rink, but it is informal, and more like a pickup game. It is meant for people that aren't ready for beer leagues. There isn't a huge up front cost (you pay for that night only), but the instruction isn't as good.

Here's what I did after I partially quit the hobby for 2-3 years: Started collecting this badboyz!!!

I make wine. Haven't tried brewing yet, but likely will someday. I also dabble in car repair/customization. I have a Mazda RX7 that has been a running project for years, but progress has come to a halt. Hopefully I can get some cash and time to invest into the beast. I also have been trying to get back into wargamming. I dusted some old mini's off and started painting but its hard to find a game without driving an hour.

I make cakes as a hobby. Hopefully to own a business/bakery one day.
