Trigger update?

Trigger update?

How is the male doing this morning? He was looking pretty puny in those pics last night...

Hope he thrives in his new home...

Nice additions Sandy - look like the male is having the TLC he requires from the female

Ed,
The female is staying close to him.
This morning the male is looking fine. swimming a little.
The cleaner shrimp are giving both fish a good cleaning as well.

Paul (reefkeeper2) has a pair in his gorgeous tank too.

Thanks,
That is GREAT news to hear, I was starting to have second thoughts on the pair, Alan made me have nightmares, waking to an empty tank and trigger with a big grin on his face and fat belly.

Ed is really a BIG fan of trigger fish.
I do have to share "my" tank with "him", ummm I mean,
it is OUR tank right? and "I" have to share ;)

George,
The male is doing fine this morning.
I agree with you, he was looking very puny last night. He was trashing aroung the bag a lot, so maybe he just stressed himself out.

Their tank mates are not chasing them, so I think that is helping them destress, so to speak.

The blue jaws are a great addition Sandy, I hope they pull through for you.

Thanks Bax!
I will try and post some better pictures of the pair this afternoon.

With all the post about RC and the brown slugg it leaves behind in the water tanks. I decided to look a little harder at our SW mixing tank, there was a lot more in there than I thought, as well as calcium deposits. So my niece and I disconnected the SW tank, out the door it went, down the drive way, you should have seen us trying to start the pressure washer, it was a sight. Thank goodness Ed is working from home today, after he had a good laugh watching us try, he started the pressure washer for us.
I think start to finish to took us 20 minutes. I wish I had taken before & after pictures.... I know, shame on me.
While we were in the cleaning mode, we added more calcium to the reactor and calibrated all the equipment.

I am so lucky my niece is spending the summer with me. I wonder if she thinks the same thing

Honestly, I think she has really enjoyed learning more and more about the tank and all the equipment it takes to keep it running.

Our green water experiment is going well also, we are on our 3rd batch now.
The rotifers 1st batch didn't make it, when we came home from the GA Aquarium we noticed the it had crashed.
So we started a 2nd batch and all is well now. They are multiplying and eating like there is no tomorrow.

Here are a few pictures of the tank today...

Hope you enjoy!

This a piece that survived the "crash" It is one of my favorite pieces

that is one awesome looking pair of fish............your new setup is one of my favs , exspecially the fish room with all the automatic water changing knobs and valves too cool. So i am subscribed and tagging along ..........

Fantastic fish... Mine are going to cost me about $8000! Ok, well about $100 for the pair and 7900 for the 6foot tank upgrade... LOL...

Have you heard any of the grunting or barking noises that they are known to make?

Sandy
Glad that they are reef safe as I love Triggers. However for my tank I'm afraid they will outgrow it (the Blue Spot supposedly grows to 18" )

Thank you so much robot2222,
The tank is really my favorite, but the fish room makes life really easy for me.
Thanks for tagging along.

Hookup,
Thank you.......You almost had me on the 8k!

No, I haven't heard the grunting or barking noise "yet", I didn't know they made that noise until I read the link I posted. :o
Ed misses his FOWRL tank., I thought these fish would help him not miss his old tank so much.

Me too Alan, I really didn't want Triggers, Ed did. I thought I did my research on Triggers before I purchased them, however, you really made me second guess my decision.

I hope these guys won't "outgrow" my tank! ;)

We seen a very large Blue Spot at our LFS, it was pretty impressive! Good luck with that one.

Thanks Marc,
I'm still struggling with the WB :(
I need to study your web site a little longer to get that perfect shot and EDIT them!
