Tomorrow night should be fishing night and the predators will move into their new home. :)

Excellent!

Be sure to count your fingers before and after!

... and glad to see you'll keep these tanks on one thread!

Jager, tank tour schedule to come out soon! :)

We got the LR moved, then moved the fish. I still have all my fingers and toes. So far, no damage done to the fish either. They all look pretty healthy. We got the glass tops on the tank and we got the lights installed. They really light the tank up! We're very happy with the lights so far. I want to see them tomorrow afternoon when the reef lights are on at full, so I can compare the two tanks.

I have a rock of brown mushrooms in the reef that I think I'm going to move to the predator tank just to see if corals can survive in the predator tank.

No pictures tonight, the water got cloudy again. Hopefully by tomorrow the water will be cleared up and I can get some decent pics. I ordered another 100 lbs of LR for the predator tank too. I'll cycle it in the 55g tank for 6 weeks before putting it into the predator tank.

Funny thing happened today. I was in a LFS and in walks one of the officers of our club. He reminded me that he has a large Queen Angel that he would like to get rid of because it's too big for his tank. He said it's about 7". PERFECT! WAY too big for any of the predators to pick on. I'll probably pick it up this weekend.

FTS of predator tank (that is 200 lbs of LR):

Thanks!

Clown - 7"
Undulated - 4"
Grouper - 9"
Puffer - 4"
Snowflake - 18"

There is also a ghost eel in here that we see once every two months or so. It's around 16". It came to us as a hitch hiker in the rock that the snowflake was in when we bought it. Everytime we give up on it as dead and eaten, it shows up again. It's a beautiful eel, it just doesn't come out very often.

Well, it's only been a day since they were moved, but so far, only picasso actually swims in the entire tank. The others hang out in the rocks.

Cool Terry! Looks great. Plenty of rock work for the triggers.
The reef is looking good also. I see that sand bed is starting to populate.

Thanks Frankie. The sand bed in the reef really is coloring up great! Another couple of months and things should REALLY stabalize then.

Then add in the DSB in the predator tank, which ranges from 4" up to 9", and we should end up with a really stable system.

Thanks Bax! I'm still not 100% sure on whether it's a Cherry Louti or a Miniatus. We bought it as a Miniatus but...

OK! Here is a panoramic video of the 10 foot reef and the 8 foot predator. It gives you a better idea of the view from our couch. :D

Yeah, and he doesn't care WHO is currently eating the silverside, he considers it his. Very rude, now that I think about it.

Very cool Terry! I think the triggers are just holding the food for the grouper. Like a circus act :) Very entertaining!

Thanks Frankie. It really is an entertaining tank to feed and watch. And with the taller tank, the eel actually has to come out of the rock to eat. We can finally SEE him!
