Our 450g reef, 360g predator tanks

Heck, you're close enough that you'll just have to drive down and see it in person. I've tried, pictures just can't truly capture everything as a whole. THAT is a nice problem to have though. :)

And you do indeed have a LOT of coral! WOW!!!

I'd love to see your tank T! My mom and bro live in Salem, Va. so I blow by you once or twice a year or so.

If you haven't heard, MACNA 2009 wil be here in NJ! You can visit my insanity then, if you like :)

COOL!!! Finally, a MACNA close enough to drive to. I'm sure my wife would love that too. And heck yeah, we'd LOVE to see your system! Down side to that though would be my wife saying "Why doesn't our tank look like his? How long until it does?"

Yeah that's a possible issue, but, I have to keep my tank looking like this which remains to be seen!

Mininum bebfit is, we get to shake hands (and have several adult beverages) at MACNA!

I talked to my wife about going to MACNA next year and she is already looking forward to it! So add a visit from us to your calendar, Bax!

The 360 is about one barrels worth from being full. Then it will be time to stop the circulation to the sump from the 150g. The predators will have to live with PH's for a day. They went for weeks before so they'll be fine. Then I'll move the two pumps from the 150 and connect them to the 360. I'll have a bit of plumbing to do tomorrow evening but I couldn't do it until I had the pumps. Then we'll catch the predators and move them to their new, bigger home. :)

I told my wife that I'm going to let her do it while I video tape it. I'm planning on winning $10,000 on Americas Funniest Videos.

Teeheehee!

That's just wrong!

"I ALMOST fell in this evening installing the locline fittings to the inside of the bulkheads. But I caught myself, and really quickly lifted myself out of the tank, hit my head on the ceiling, fell of the ladder, hurt my bum, BUT I didn't fall in! I consider it a success.
Success it is!

Is that the famous BSJF?
Of course I am famous!

Wow, even Lorraine is venturing out into the great unknown!
Unknown? Is this a secret site?

Welcome BSJF!
Thanks!

You guys are very busy BTW! Makes my back hurt just thinking about this tank!

Yeah, we're both anxious for the day that we can sit, relax, sip a cup of coffe, and watch the fish swimming around in these tanks. We're tired, but man, what an adventure!

Yip, that's what I get to do now. Drink wine... Ok, well every now and then I still have to do something (like replace a ballast, grr)!

Wish I was closer and could see this baby for real!

No secret at all Lorraine. It's nice to see you all venturing into new places. I have been spending a lot of time on ZEOvit.com. I am getting ready to make the big switch over!
I am really going to have to try and make that meeting also Terry. I need to pay a visit up north before my brother comes down and shoots me.
You all still need avatars! :p

sheesh Bax I said gloves, thats different than running thru a cage of pitbulls in porkchop underwear

Frankie, that will be interesting to see how everything but SPS respond to the ZEOvit system. Especially clams that actually consume nitrates.

WOO HOO! The title has been changed! Thanks!

We finished all the plumbing tonight and I got the water flowing. Talk about a serious water change for the system! I just added 360g of new saltwater. Temp 79, Salinity 1.0258, PH 8.4, Calcium 450. Thats all I tested tonight, I'm tired.

With the gate valves all the way open, I figure the barracuda was pumping around 5,000 gph into the tank. The drain handled it but it was LOUD! I figured out the proper size of tubing and the location for it to silence it but I turned the gate valves down to around 3,500 gph. I'll turn the flow back up this weekend when I can babysit it. :D

The sump system also handled it without a problem. I figure I had around 9,000 gph flowing through the sump with the predator tank wide open.

Tomorrow night should be fishing night and the predators will move into their new home. :)

from one wamaser to another, I think you might need more flow......

j/k

I cant wait to see the new shots and the tank tour down the road

and remember when bigger tank syndrome hits, we all will help you setup another one. :D
