Well a lot has been going on over the last few months. I have been working with my LFS and Marineland on a custom DD the largest tank in the DD Marineland will build is 500gal 10'L X 36"W X 27"H. Its not the 1000gal that I wanted, but I am in love with the DD. I have been in reefkeeping for many years and I am still learning. There are so many tanks here on RC that are very clean, have sump rooms and there is a few that rival public aquariums!!! What I have learned is to have a build thread from start to finish to help give others ideas and to get some feedback from people who have been down that road. So the 300 is sold and I am waiting on the new one to come in before I start the fun process of taking this one down and setting up the new one! One thing that I am going to do is get detailed on the teardown process and how I transfer it all over. There is always the question people have on how do I even teardown my tank? Transfer it all over and keep all the livestock alive and how long do I wait before I set up. I will take detailed photos and I hope this will be helpful for those who are tearing down and setting up. So for this 300 DD its days have came to a close and it is time for a new home for the tangs. Thank you for all the nice comments, questions and it has been awsome to talk with some of you on the phone, who live acoss the state and some who live in parts of the world I thought it would be impossible to have a tank. Untill then Keep Reefing folks!!!

Wow. When do you think you will get the 500? =) Did you ever get any pictures of your closed loop? What all are your plans for this?

Well folks I have had to cancel my new build! To keep it short, the person who was buying my display gave me a Bad Check! My LFS did not have Marineland start the build on the new tank yet, and I havent removed anything from my tank yet. So as it goes, a lesson learned LOL never take a check!! So I will keep the updates rollin on this tank and it is time to take some new pics to show off the coral growth and of course all the tangs. There has been some new additions to my tang family.

Good luck on the new 500DD your current tank is amazing love the aquascaping. I am looking at upgrading to the 300dd and I can not find the total hight of the stand anywhere would you happen to know?

Thanks, I busted out the tape measure for ya and my stand comes in at 28" tall.
