Out with the old, in with the new.

you have better negotiating skills than I, convincing your family that it makes sense to upgrade to a bigger setup because there isnt enough space in the house, lol thats amazing

Looking 4ward to seeing it complete. I have a clam to get rid of cause it takes up 2 much room in this 180g. Maybe I can interest you when you get the rock. Its gonna look great in there.:bounce3:

Thanks, Ray I will talk to you when I come over Sunday. I got the crown finished tonight. I am going to try and finish the trim around the lights tomorrow. The heat/ac is supposed to be here Thursday. If it shows up I will start the install of that as well.

Thanks I am hoping to be up and running by mid April if not sooner.

Awesome News! That's looking like it's really going to be cool!

Saw you've been MIA (understandably) from WORC so I though I'd check here to see what the dealy-o was.

Now that your an expert at crown molding, I got a job for you....

Well we got the heat/ac unit today. After a lot of research we decided not to go with the through wall until. Instead we went with a LG ductless dual zone split system. We are going to mount 1 head unit in the fish room and one in the main room. The nice thing about these they have a dehumidify setting so in the winter I can have the unit in the fish room run as a dehumidifier and the other heat the room. If the temps get to low for the heat pump to work I will have some 110v backup heaters encase. But with the tank and lights I shouldn't have any problems.

Love the color of the room. The LG setup is really cool. I wish I had the space for a setup like this!

Thanks we like the color as well. I had to give up garage space to get the room but it will be worth it in the long run.

I am excited, I am picking up the tank tomorrow. I will post pics when I get home. I have the room cleaned and ready to go. Once the tank is set in place and I decied if I am going to build a new stand or use the old stand ( I am not sure the steel stand will work with the un-level floor) I will start to work on the floor and trim.

Thanks all, The tank is here and I am working on it now. I will post pics late tonight or early tomorrow. I have a lot of work ahead of me to get it ready for my reef stuff.

Ok first off I want to give a big thank you to Hunger and blown76mav for all the help today. We went and picked up the tank, stand and frag tank today. The three of us unloaded it and setup it up when we got back. A great group of friends to be around.

Ok so here goes, the first shot is the indoor ac unit mounted and ready for install tomorrow. I am hoping to have it online tomorrow night.

Next is the tank before I finished the leveling and started to fill it with water.

The last pic is the tank filled with water. There will be some changes I am going to make with the setup.

The major change will be the stand. After I got it setup I noticed it has a LOT of movement side to side. I didn't notice that when it was empty. I am going to build a new stand out of wood after I get the AC installed and switch it out. I want a more solid feeling stand under the tank. I am not going to run the 150g sump like I had planned. It is just to tall and I want to be able to work on it easier. I have a stock tank that I may use but I am just not sure yet. I am going to rethink the closed loop layout I had planned. I am going to draw it up and think about that for a while. More pics to follow tomorrow.

Looks good. And let me tell ya that is one HEAVY tank for three guys to move. You know I'm here to help any time ya need it.

Cool, a large build within driving distance. Let us all know when the open house will be :)

Will do, I am hoping to have the room finished completely around May

I ran into some issues today with all of the projects I was working on. We need a special fitting to finish the ac system so I am hoping to have it Tuesday. I started on the stand and ran into a few snags along the way. I didn't realize it was going to be that heavy so it was a beast to get the top on. I built it a little different this time around. I laid the bottom boards flat to give myself more room under the stand so if I want I can put the sump under the tank and have room to work on it. I am going to finish putting the braces on it tomorrow and put some paint on it. I am going to try to get it moved Wednesday so I can do some of the plumbing.
