it started with one bubble tip, now i have 18 last i counted. help! i love anemones but wow... i have no place for a rose bubble tip now

How long did it take for you to get 18? You could trade several of them in to a LFS for credit or sell them on craigslist.

I started with one in 2007 and now I have 50+ from that one. Was thinking of selling but decided to let them be.

i remember the old day when some people want to sell a rose bta for $300 ! crazy how some of these delusional people are willing to ripped us off, luckily for me i am not one of the fools. :)

If you were up here in Quebec or Ontario I'd probably want to relieve you from some of them [emoji39]

You sure they're green bubble tips. I've seen folks selling majanos as green BTA on more than one occasion (though unaware).

actually i am some what close too grand rapids mi.. i am in jackson mi.. i also have xenias growing so much its over run with them also.. big huge ones. i saw some at pruess' pets that were not even as big as mine for like 150 bucks lol, made me want to start fragging stuff

hhmmmmm actually after looking at pics of mojano.. they in fact may be just that and the description of what they do would go hand in hand with why they have spread so much.. i was told they were bubble tips from the guy who gave me everything from his aquarium when he took it down so i assumed he was correct.

that would also be a reason why the 2 clown fish have never gone to them maybe

here is a pic of what i now think is majano and another pic of some of the xenia .. i have 2 more that are as big as those or bigger..
i know its a bad picture i will take a better one when the lights are not in dusk, the shallow reef setting of my radions is doing that

please someone let me know if i have a date with some kalkwasser and a syringe.. like i said it was all given to me so i will be some what bummed if they are not actually bubble tips but at the same time i always liked the rose bubbles and i will kill these off and buy one of those for sure

No they aren't mojanos or aiptaisia They are real anemones. You should go to your lfs and trade some in for credit

Hard to tell for sure. Majano is an imprecise term for a number of invasive anemone species (I have had at least three different kinds make problems for my tank). They don't really look like BTA to me .....

here is an older pic with my old lights,

Those are definitely pest anemones. About 12 years ago people were selling those as 'tulip anemones'. Turns out they are just a pretty species of majano anemones, which is a broadly used term for a wide variety of pest anemone. As you see they spread and will continue to spread and they will sting any nearby corals. Arm yourself with a syringe and kalk slurry and inject with extreme prejudice.

FWIW, I had them take over a pico I was running back then.

here is a better pic of them with the lights this morning, you can see 6 of them all right there about a foot apart of each other. i guess i don't know what to do now. they are saved until friday when i get payed for now anyways since i cant find my old bottle of kalkwasser.. the thing at the very top is not one. that is some kind of lps growing off branches like a hammer coral, maybe frogspawn?.. i dont know what everything in my tank is since it was all giving to me from a tear down. i know hat some of the things i have are but since i didn't buy any of it i don't know every piece

Oh yes, yes, yes, 'tulip' anemones. Ain't they puuuurty? It may take more than one application of kalk slurry to fully eradicate them. You can also use boiling water or lemon juice.

The lps is a torch coral.
