overdosing interceptor?

Has anyone experienced negative effects due to overdosing interceptor?

What did you overdose?? The amount of grams or the amount of time?? I have found that i can easily dose with 10-20X the recommended and still have no issues. I normally dose for 10-12 hrs.

Ok. I just didn't have a scale so I was wondering if I overdosed I I would have problems. I plan on leaving it in a little longer as well. Just in case.

When I used it about two months ago I used 1, 2.3 mg pill for my 46 gallon tank and had no problems. I believe I went heavy as I too didn't have a scale. I left it in the tank running through my skimmer body with no air injection for about 12 hrs and then did my normal weekly water change and changed my gfo and carbon. Worked like a charm. I also did the recommended three weeks worth of treatments. It was a painless treatment all in all. Good luck!

I dont even do a water change till all my treatments are done. I just stick the air intake from the skimmer in to the water for the first 12 hrs. After 12 hr I start skimming wet. At a bough the 23 hr mark I run carbon. After the 3 treatments than I do my water change.

How long do I need to wait before I put my shrimp and crabs back in the tank.

I still have not tried. A fellow reefer said that he attempted hermits 6 months aftet treatment and they died. Best bet is a test hermit every month and then monitor results.

It depends on how much medication is still in the tank. If you do a series of water changes and run carbon, you can add them back in within the same week. Dont forget you have to acclimate them, they are sensitive. Make sure your KH is close between the two.
