Overpowered Koralia

Depending on how much you want to reduce the flow you can go to an RC hobby shop and find a propeller of a smaller size. That should do the trick but might take a little DiY to make it fit perfectly. But that's just me, if I can take something apart I will. :)

twin wouldnt a smaller prop make higher rpms? do you think that would be ok on the motor? I have often thought of playing with props on powerheads but always thought it would kill the motors
 
I will have to get more creative with my bouncing. What the verdict with a smaller prop? Would a dimmer work? I have lots of those from work.

No, a dimmer light switch is not intended to be used with the motors in these pumps, and would generally be considered an unsafe situation. Dimmer switches are best used to control incandescent light bulbs, and little more.

Sounds like you'd be best off to rearrange your pump position, or perhaps consider a smaller Koralia.

Although I do not have a pump I could offer in trade, I can say that I have a pair of the basic Koralia #3's and a pair of #4's, and the #4's do seem to push much more water. I'm sure someone would like to trade a #3 for your #4, and that might just solve your problems.
