owenspackmans 180 Reef upgrade build.

awesome build and those tank dimensions are perfect. What skimmer are you going with?
looking forward to see this filled with rock and coral.

That IPHONE idea is really cool . what purpose does it serve. is it just to have access to the apex charts and stuff or do you use it to control the pumps, lights etc?

Love the dalmation puppies too, I just picked up a 6 month old male puppy dalmation 2 weeks ago. Great dog so far!

Thank you! I feel the dimensions are great also, I love the deeper tanks, they allow for such great viewing and also give a lot of opportunity for aquascaping

The skimmer will be utilizing my old Tunze unit, I can't remember the model off the top of my head. It's probably slightly underrated on the 180 but it kept up fine with the 120. Ill change it out down the road, the main reason for sticking with the Tunze was cost, the money had to go elsewhere on the build before a new skimmer.

So the iPhone idea was stolen from another build thread, I mention the thread a few pages back. It charts the apex just like you said but can also control the apex outlets. AI will soon release the Director which means I will be able to control the AI Vegas with the phone. I also use Aquaplanner Pro app for iOS. It tracks all your parameters and testing, great little app I love looking at calcium, magnesium charts over the course of weeks and months and having all that data at your finger tips.

Dalmatians are the greatest dogs. Our eldest is deaf and 3. She's the greatest companion I could ever have asked for, she's the most loyal, loving and attentive dog I've ever known. Because of her, we got the 2nd, she's just turned a year and is insane. She can hear, but it's pointless her having hearing, she's a typical highly strung Dalmatian. BUT we wouldn't be without her and neither would her older sister.

today the transfer started. Live rock, sand, water and crabs / snails. Tomorrow I will do some water tests and if all looks well the livestock will be transferred over! As always I had some helping hands and paws! I love the extra space for aquascaping with the 3' deep tank.

Lmao I just noticed tht and I 100% agree! You guys twins?

must say, I don't know quite how to take that!! My significant other was certainly offended by your comparison! Ha! ;)

Maybe this will make you retract your statement, this is me, i'm not Mr Saltwater Tank, promise!

Well done Owen!

Scape looks interesting!More photos when it clears up please!

It still clearing up, it's getting there. We finished filling the tank and were able to start the pumps last night, its been running for about 15hours. There was a lot of dust from the sand that had to be filtered out, it's getting there. This is how we currently look:

<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/user/owenspackman/media/DSC_00011.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v486/owenspackman/DSC_00011.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC_00011.jpg"/></a>

All livestock has now been moved over, the tangs are pretty happy and active, clowns are sticking to one corner currently, i've not seen the Royal Gramma and the pistol shrimp is happy as a clam to be out of the rubbermaid.

I've now started hooking everything up to the Apex and getting it programmed.

Looks amazing man!

Looking at your pictures makes me think that I need to put some effort on my skills!

Now is just shoot and upload through iphone !LOL

Keep us posted !

Very nice... I do not think you look like Mr Saltwater, btw...

HAHAHAHAHA...

Nice Dalmatians. How is their hearing?

well thank you Worm! I appreciate it! ha ha!

And thanks, they're great dogs. The young one can hear, but acts like she can't. The 3 year old can't hear, but listens better than any dog i've ever known! She's amazing at reading dog language and the sign language we give her.

Very good... I am a firefighter and a few of my friends have them.

btw... more like Mr Rogers... (Just kidding!!!)
