owenspackmans 180 Reef upgrade build.

I really wanna see that acro in a before and after pic. In the right water I know it is going to color right up to something awesome.

This tank is too perfect! I will be styling my 125 tank stand after this. I love the idea of the tiles and counter top. I'm thinking about mounting a beer bottle opener right under it!

So here you go, here are some quick photos of the Acro colony i got from you yesterday, these were taken without a tripod and by hand so aren't perfect. I will take photos as it colors up (if it decides to in my system!). These photos have had no adjustments made to them so the change is easier to see.

I do love the pieces i got from you yesterday, especially the Acro colony, its the first Acro I have that isn't just a 'frag'.

Acro, birdsnest and monti cap from I got from Bill yesterday.

thank you very much for the compliment! I appreciate it!

Good luck with the stand, I love the tiles too, it's my favorite part of the stand and has really come in useful when working on, cleaning and feeding the tank. Plus a great place to lean when viewing, the cats love it too!

The tiles were not my idea, but another member of the forum, i link their thread earlier in my build. Feel free to ask any questions you might have when the time comes for your stand build and learn from the mistakes i made too. You want all your supports to be under the perimeter of the tank and not the outer edge of the stand as mine was. Having the tile around the side means it needs to be build a little different than the standard.

I need to take some new photos now I've had the Acro almost 2 weeks. In my opinion it's started to look more red than the brown in the previous photos.

I thought we had expected a more purple out of it? The change has not been dramatic though.

I'm considering Zeovit.

a short video tour of the tank after 4 months, for anyone who still visits.....

Tank is awesome. Love the cabinet. I will end up copying your ledge. Except since I want a long tall tank no side edges or really small ones and wider front edge to i can easily kneel on it to work on the tank. Great tank. Love the craftsment ship. Want to do the same with my electrical like you except I think Ill put a mini cabinet in the cabinet and water proof it. Hmmm. Just need to move to start the process.

Thank you! It seems the tile ledge has been popular. Wish you luck with your build, like your ideas.

Will your fish from the old tank make it over to the beautiful new tank or is it coral only?

Hi Mark. They will. They have 3 weeks left in quarantine as I've almost completed a 12 week fallow period in the display due to ich. Can't wait to get them back in!

Woke up today with water all over the floor. Never a good sign huh?

Sump leaked. Thank god it wasn't the display tank. I think my baffles had been in too tight, I wondered about that from the start but risked it, big mistake.

My final chamber had emptied, pump running dry and my auto top off had emptied about all 3-4 gallons that were remaining into it. Close to 8 gallons I would say escaped from the tank.

Emptied and removed the sump, cleaned up the floor. Now waiting for petco to open to grab another 40b and new quarantine tank. Luckily it's $1 a gallon right now.

Lots of work ahead of me today, rebuild the sump without tight baffles and reinstall. Gah.

Oh man Owen....there is nothing worse than that feeling. When my tank was running the first thing I always did was check my apex app on the iphone. I've had a few mornings where I did an "oh s#%#!!!!!" and ran into the basement. If you have an apex or another controller its time for a leak detector!!!
