Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Ha! Old age. I ordered the Avast probe holder which I really like. I am starting be concerned that my coral are not bouncing back after the crash. My Ca is a little high.. Alk and ph are fine.. starting to wonder. I did take out a chemipure blue and replaced with a fuge... need to watch it.

Yea. I'm old. I admit it. I hate the apex probe holder. It's huge...sitting in the cabinet. Have no room for it...it's built like a tank. I may bandsaw it in half one day...
I'd give them time. How high is the Ca? Thinking lay off the dosing for a bit...or just use one part? Watch the phosphates now without the chempure....

Waiting for some more acclimation time for the new addition. Yellow Goni and Green/purple Goni. I caught my bw OC nipping at the yellow one yesterday. Obviously he was hungry...plus a mini scoly..

I am not dosing anything at the moment, just doing some water changes...Ca was all the way up to 480...I will check that later today. phosphates are reading 0 on the hanna checker, though usually like it around .02.

I will just ride it out...I leave the 2nd and really do not want to mess too much with the tank since I will be gone for 11 days.

So I was sitting in front of my tank wondering.... I am thinking since I moved some rock around and took some out, that I possibly created a mini cycle.

That is the only thing I can think about...but we will see.

That eshopps 2l dosing container is perfect. Fits without moving the shelf up. Now to figure out how to mount the doser. I may just Velcro it to the shelf!
Thanks for the tip!

How did you get yours before me?????!!!!!!!!!! Ya I would just put it on with the 3m 10lb strips.. You can pick them up at the Depot. I do not like the velcro. What I would do, would take a paddle bit and drill in the middle of the shelf and bring up the dosing tubes to the doser. Gives it a clean look and lets you leave the shelf in there.

Don't know. Maybe I'm a preferred customer. LOL. I order from them a lot.
That sounds like a good idea but I don't want to waste shelf space. I have some router mounting brackets at work that should hold it under the shelf just right. I can then keep all my wet stuff in one section. In a plastic bin lined section. Just in case of dribbles or leaks...at least that area is neat and tidy..plus I keep all my dry food and test stuff above it. Hate to move it.
Someday I'll get inspired and mount all my tech neatly and regain the other side..
Someday...

Got it... I have a fish closet right next to the tank that I run my ethernet cord into and the wires for the controller and then back out..gives it that clean look.

I wish. Mine is in the LR. So it has to look neat per mrs reduck.

I am saved by my closet. I got the container..I like it. Will work perfectly for 2 part. I think that I am going to be in for a little treat..I have pretty huge ph swings and i am starting to get some cyno. All the rock moving and moving around the sand did everything in. Now I get to wait

How huge? I've seen mine go from 8.0x to 8.2x in the course of 24h. I thought nothing of it.
I recently changed my rock out completely. Only one at a time over the course of a month. So I brought back a bit of a cycle too, but I'm not going to sweat it. It will pass.. Everything is thriving....including some gha patches. It too shall pass...I hope!
No time to mount the doser today. Maybe after the wc Friday...

It as been swinging down to 7.7 today and up to 8.17...I know that I am in a cycle... Tank feels that way.. My chaeto is growing like crazy so I know its feeding!!!!!

I am glad that I changed the rock, I like the look of it. I am still undecided about the dosers...just havent decided about going cheap or going DOS

I assume you calibrated the ph probe with both solutions. I know mine was off by .4 until I got around to calibrating it. The chaeto is happy. That's a plus.

If you decide to go cheap the dp2 unit I got is still $60 addictive aquaculture. Can't vouch for it long term but it sets up and calibrates easy enough.

Hey all. Long time lurker here thought I'd set up an account and get in on the discussion! I set up a fusion 40 about 3 weeks ago and little by little its coming together. I'm using a sturdy metal table I retrofitted with a black painted slab of of 3/4" pressure treated plywood. There is plenty of room in the corner of the room under the table for ATO jug and dosing containers when I get to that point. I have the tank set up as a center piece in my livingroom. I have ~55 lbs of cured liverock I got on CL from a reefer who was downsizing his tank. The rock is awesome i got some nice big pieces. 30 lbs of sand from the same guy. Cycle was pretty fast and I have a pair of juvenile ocelaris in there now from my old pico who are doing great.

IM Nuvo fusion 40
150w aqueon pro heater
50 lbs cured LR
30 lbs live sand
jebau mp-10
After a lot of research I'm going with a reef radiance 165w full spectrum fully programmable led light. It's on order should be here in a few days

Besides that I've been topping off by hand until I decide on and order an ATO. I'm also researching and deciding on which skimmer to get

I also plan on making a fuge.

This tank is a huge jump from the 8 gallon pico I ran successfully for 2 years and I'm really excited!http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/images/smilies/dance.gif

I sure did. I am just going to wait it out. Keep me up to date on how that doser is. My XYZ comes today, going to get these pumps programed and ready to go.

You'll like the RR light. I liked mine. It may even be too powerful for the tank depending on how you hang it. I was using the tank mounting bracket that they sell. This put it too close to the waterline. I didn't feel there was enough light dispersion at that height.and I could not hang it.

welcome and enjoy!

I plan on hanging it so I hope I don't have that problem...
I really like that I can control it from my Iphone.
