Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

How long have you had yours running? Mine has been running for about 2 months, it finally broke in maybe a couple weeks ago. I have the cup o-ring about 1.25-1.5 from the bottom, pretty high. Air valve is about half way open at best, MB are very minimal for me at this point. But it wasn't until it broke in that the MB finally started going away. Water level in center chamber is about 1in. below top of baffle

I got it up and running a little over a month. You have you water level that low? Maybe I lower mine. I'm about a half inch OVER the baffle. Lol

Today I moved my 40 into the basement to make room for my new 96 gallon tank. I have to say, I never want to move a tank again! Anyway, the IM40 is doing well. Haven't decided yet whether to keep it or sell it after the transfer to the new tank. New build thread coming along.

It was fun coming along for the ride on this thread. I really learned a lot and appreciate everyone's support.

Cheers

Yes, I decided to build this one without sand. It is also going to be on Zeovit. I want this one to be Sps dominant. Very excited to see how it turns out.

So far, Im loving my IM 40 Nuvo, still playing with the protein skimmer to get it to work optimally. Other wise the tank is such an improvement over my last nano cube

Keep us updated on the Zeovit. Heard lots of positives about it, but heard it can be pricey too. By the way Aquascape looks really cool.

Can't wait to see all your SPS

Are you runing yjr zeovit in the IM reactors? or what are you using? any other tips about using zeovit?

Right now I am using the media in a filter sock. Just need to shake it up everyday. I am going to try to make a reactor for my tank since they do not make one small enough to fit in the back. But for now I will just be using the sock.

I have been reading a lot in the Zeovit forum. They are very helpfull. They let you know the exact dosing needed. I have been using their 14 day cycling schedule to cycle my tank.

We will see how it goes. I am expecting good results. Only time will tell.

I also use zeovit with this tank and the IM reactor works perfectly. I would highly recommend it as it may be difficult to reduce nutrients running the media passively.

Anyone running there 40 skimmerless. If so how is the tank doing. I downgraded from a 75. Was tired of maintenance mainly the build up of calcium in my bubble kings Venturi and motor propeller. Had to take skimmer apart every few weeks to remove. Now I'm having same issues with tunze 9004. Not sure what causes this. Thinking of jus getting rid of skimmer all together
My alk is 7.8
Cal 420
Phos 0 using Hanna
Nitrates 10
I run mine skimmerless and have for the last four years. No issues

How do you pump the media in the IM reactor? I read that the media has to be pumped and not just tumbled. How long have you been using it?

Hello All, well finally I mean finally my IM 40 is up on the APS stand, With Water, Rock and sand. Once I figure out the picture posting I will share them.

IM 40
APS stand
IM Skimmer, Reactor, ATO Tank, Custom Caddy & LED light ( try Refug/Cheato)?
AI Hydra 26
Smart ATO
Fuji Pink sand
MP10 ( soon)
Using as best I can all Aquavitro stuff; Salt, and additives

I'm looking at mostly LPF's, might add the right SPF if I find one. Plus Ricordea shrooms.. At least thats the plan. But we all know most plans never go that way...

So far I like the controllability the AI provides

So whats the verdict around here.....Tunze 9004 or ghost midsize? Is it really that bad losing a media basket to use the Tunze 9004 which seems to be a "better" skimmer?

I went with Ghost, prior to finding this site. But more seem to say the Tunze preforms better, just limited placement for tunze. Since I'm just starting tank haven't got an official like or dislike for you.
