Reduck
Because I can....
Used autocad and my 3d printer and printing something now that I can use to stick em in.
Well that's much cooler than a pair of forceps..
3d printer too? You have a lot of cool toys!

First prototype done, Need to work on the grating in the bottom part to try and get a more even flow.
There is also very limited mounting options available back there since there is no room under the lip where the water pours in
Well It works.. about 70% of the water falls down evenly across the pad. Need to change the mounting on the side though to block water there and a small lip at the end and all the water will pour evenly on the pad.
And Shockingly enough for a first attempt, the mounting fits perfectly on top of the InTank media baskets and lines up right with the edge.

Draft #2 works perfectly.
The side and back walls block in the flow to keep it going over the filter floss. And if the filter floss gets plugged or the holes do it still has enough room to pour over the back edge so it doesn't overflow.
That looks good! Great job. Is that your emblem in the middle?
On another note, I did my first water change today. I was ready to do 10gs, but when I filled up my 5g bucket, I quickly changed my mind. I remembered adding about ~30lbs of live sand, and ~30lbs of live rock, so there was no way I had 40g of liquid in there.
Next time I may do a 7.5g water change.
Okay, MOSTLY final product.
Just need to work on tweaking the drain a tad bit more for a more even flow.
Have to make the holes really small to get the even flow.
Need to let this last one dry and test it and see, but it should work.
I do have to wait for the new bed for the laser cutter to come in. this one isnt flat and very open which leads to a bit of warping on small cuts.

I have the trifecta for creating stuff. 3d printer, cnc machine and a laser cutter.
Last Design works perfectly. left it up overnight and have a mostly even covering all over the filter floss.
As far as I know, this will only work with InTank's basket though, dont know about IM's cause I dont have one to test.
Also, I tried cleaning some of the sandbed...and well that just seemed to suck the sand up. Are you guys using a siphone?
I'd say I would try one for you, but I am using inTank floss holders only..
The dimensions of the 2 look similar, I just don't know if it would stay on yours to be honest.
Just curious what you guys have for PH in your tank?
Doing 1/4 tsp per gallon of kalk to start with in ATO trying to get my alkalinity to climb somewhat.
After a day of the ATO running with Kalk my alkalinity has gone from 128ppm to 129ppm (7.17 to 7.22 DKH). But PH has been higher than normal, I'm at 8.24 now.
