Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Konnichiwa... At mt Fuji now. That is what I thought but this is the second Pump and it's doing the same thing. Already have him doing it, I was prepared for this.

Cool. Nice view there...enjoy.. I should have hooked you up with coworkers while you are there...I have a couple of very good friends there. They'd take you out drinking....😄

I had a series of two pumps go bad too. Third times a charm. Their support guy told me they had a run of bad pumps. When you have time, post about it in the tunze forum. They are very responsive..

Sapporobeerokudasi!

And to add to the above. It doesn't matter how you do it. As long as it gets done is what matters.

Great info as always. Appreciate the response for sure. I really do like exactly what you are doing. For whatever reason I didn't even look to see what size the Brutes are available in. I think I just had in my mind that I had to come up with some massive permanent installation. I like being able to toss everything in the brute and take it to the garage when not in use, then bring it in and make some water as needed.

Yep. It's not too bad at all. It was worse buying sw and rodi at the lfs imo. Lugging home 250 or so pound of water and dragging it in the house, etc.
Walmart sells the smaller brutes for I think 18 bucks. I'd say get the roller base too. It really makes moving water easy. You can use a syphon or a small submersible pump and hose and you are all set. Use the same pump for mixing the salt. Get a tank heater while you are at wm too and keep it with the wc tanks.

Don't forget to test every new batch of salt mix! I did and I'm paying for it now...

Remember, there may be better solutions for you. Just don't over complicate it

I did 10g yesterday. No muss, no fuss. Happy fish.

Hey guys quick question, I have a huge outbreak of copepods and they are all over my glass. I have not cleaned the inside of the glass, as I was afraid of killing them. Now I really need to clean the glass, at this point I really need to do it. Now the copepods are just everywhere, looks like a snow globe. Do you guys think it will be ok to clean?

Absolutely! Knock em down. They'll be back up shortly.
Lucky you. Copepods are good! I used to have a good population as well but the fish found them tasty and not as plentiful as before.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all.

I just spent the morning cleaning my pond. Ugh. Spring startup. Smells like a septic tank...some big butterfly koi this spring. Lots of growth over the long winter..my all white is near 16". The tri color is close to that too.

Thanks, I am getting on it now. Do most fish eat these little guys? Im all cycled, been about a week now. was thinking of adding a clown and some cuc. You think that would be ok? I don't mind waiting longer ;)

would love to see some pics of your pond

Some fish exist on them. Mandarins, some cardinalfish, clowns eat em too.
If you are sure you are cycled, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates, you may be ok.
Is there algea for the cuc to eat? If not, they'll starve.
Add a clown or two if you were planning on it. I find they get along better when they are added together. Feeding them and them pooping will tell you quick if your cycle is finished. Just be prepared to do wc if needed. Don't feed them a lot..couple pellets a day.
Keep checking ammonia and nitrates daily for a week after you add them, and just be prepared for a wc if needed.

Once the yuk settles out I'll post some pics of the pond.

My tests show im cycled, and a week ago I brought in a sample to my lfs. They confirmed I was completely cycled but said wait a week or two for fish. this Thursday will be week 2. As for algea, I have tons of diatom. I bought 40 pounds of cured live rock to get this going, I got lots of growth :) thanks for the help

In which case cuc is go! If you are adding corals later, go easy on the hermits...2-4 tops...

The forum here or over at tunze? I guess I am going through a serious of bad pumps. I will work on it when I get home or email them

Last time I was in Japan, I was single and did a lot of drinking and partying. Now that I am with my wife, it is a little toned down. Good friend of the family works for the embassy over here, so we get to spend time with her.

From the looks from Dropcam and apex. Tank is doing well!

Well. Got the tank and stand in today, had to go pick it up from UPS cause our local delivery driver is rather rough on packages.

All I gotta say is, ouch.. My back is killing me

Yea. I got mine out of the trunk and into the garage and had to take a break. I had the mrs help me get it on the stand. Didn't want to slide it on the rubber mat! You might get help putting up there. Please don't hurt yourself or the tank...good luck getting it going! Hurry up, we need pics!

Ok, I got my DOS today, ooh baby.its a tight fit in the cabinet. But damn it's pretty...and easy to set up....
Boy is my apex screen filling up...as my wallet empties...

Talking about rough ups drivers. Mine had the audacity to leave me a box of broken glass. That was my jbj 30 rimless. So f&s sent another, this time fedex. Guess what they left me? A big box of broken glass. I got a refund, and ordered the fusion from a lfs. That's how I ended up here...it's a shame as those rimless tanks are spectacular...

Oh well..live and learn...

Glad it's a tight fit.. Now you have to clean up your cabinet. Let's see some pics!!!

One more day in Tokyo and off to Hong Kong

Im going to try to hang it on the back wall, higher up, then drop the tubing into the bottom to the containers. On the sides, it sticks out too far and will just waste space. I managed to squeeze the aquabus cables into my powerbar. What a mess that is...:spin3: I'll get to it eventually...:spin3:

Hong Kong should be awesome, maybe a little hot now.... Enjoy! Weather here will be crappy all week...

I always thought people were overreacting when they said the stand came beat up and damaged with foam everywhere.. Well now I know they weren't kidding.

I do have a question though. The Tunze 9004 I got will not fit in the skimmer chamber in the back of the tank, the only way I can get it to fit is to put it in the outer most column where the water pours in.

Is that an acceptable place to put it? Or should I return it and get a different one? Because I already ordered 2x of the InTank filter holders so one would be useless if I put the skimmer there.

Many people put it in the outer most chamber, that works. If ya don't want to give up that chamber, you can put a hang on like I did. Its all up to you ;) Im using the AquaMaxx HOB-1 Hang-On-Back Protein Skimmer w/ Bubble Stopper

For the AquaMaxx HOB-1, how far does the back of the tank need to be away from the wall to fit the skimmer? Cause if I decide to get one, I don't want to have to drain the tank just to move the stand to fit it.
