OzarksReef Rimless Cube Build Thread

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't have the option of plumbing outside of the stand so I guess I'm going to have to figure something out.

My Octopus XP2000 skimmer is in! They recommend around a 6" - 7" water level - here it is doing its job:

I also got the new frag tank up and running. I went with a 40-gallon breeder and installed the CAD 150-watt MH fixture over it:

Excellent looking rimless! Your tank contents are stunning. As I read it, you have a 40 Breeder for a sump and a 40 Breeder for a frag tank? Nice!

Did you decide on a sump? What about a skimmer?

I hope to order mine this week and am trying to figure out my options. thanks!

tqpolo - I don't have a FTS with the light in pic, but will try to get one up here soon. The light looks really nice suspended over the rimless tank.

Meanwhile, here's a shot I had sittin' around of my Roscoe's Blues colony - it's a the very top of the reef.

Anything abou your 50gal CAD Lights setup your unhappy with or would like to change?

Everything looks great by the way..Corals are stunning and I'm a huge fan of Anthias.

You made this look so easy lol.
Your new tank is so sharp looking and I'm very impressed with your rockscape.
And the corals are gorgeous!

I cant live with the small sump either. Currently, the tank alone is not available. I'm waiting. When they become available, I will order one and build a stand with a 40 breeder underneath. I currently have all the equipment to run a decent set up and dont need / want all the other stuff that comes with the full set up.

Hey Mako - good to hear from you - hope all is going well! Overall, I'm really pleased the new cube. It's well constructed, looks great, and is a great size for ease of maintenance. At this point, I'm pretty happy with the equipment choices - the MP10 and MP20 are great for flow and the Giesemann light fixture is awesome. We discussed smaller tanks when I purchased the 150 from you, and I'm really enjoying the smaller setup for now.

IridescentLily - thanks for the feedback. The overall project with the drywall work and such was a job - but switching tanks really wasn't too bad. I'm definitely ready to sit back and just enjoy watching it now!

Henry Bowman - the 40-breeder is a great choice for a sump if you have space in the stand or behind the wall. The extra water volume it provides helps with keeping parameters stable. I hope that CAD Lighting takes care of their distribution problem - they haven't had the tank-only available since the beginning of January!

jenglish - Goin' on two months now ;)! We'll see if this one "sticks" - if not, setting them up is half the fun!
