Ozonizers

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with the Ozotech ozone generators? I am interested in buying one for my Lifereef Skimmer but I am worried about degredation of plastics such as PVC and the skimmer itself. The skimmer is a 5 foot mazzie injected venturi that performs extremely well but looking to incorporate ozone for my large fish only setup with liverock for disease erradication.

I am running an Ozotech Poseidon. As long as your skimmer was designed for ozone use you will be fine. Remember, as long as you are passing the outtake of the skimmer over carbon it will basically neutralize the residual ozone.

Therefore all other plastic, rubbers and your silicone seals are never put at risk. In fact if there were enough residual ozone getting past the ozone reaction chamber your fish would be dead long before any seals were ruined. :D

Have you noticed any improvement with the ozone use??? What have noticed are the befefits? Do you really need an air dryer with these units? How do you like the Ozotechs, are they good quality ozonizers?

I have noticed an improvement in skimmate production and water clarity. Skimmate, maybe 10-50% increase. Water clarity was pretty dramatic.

Ozone does perform better with lower RH so it depends how humid your fish room is. I am around 35% normally so I use a dryer. If you were in the teens for RH you could probably get away without one. I don't have any complaints with the Ozotech unit. I compared this unit to the RedSea unit and ended up going with the Ozotech unit based on user feedback.
