I am wondering how these work? The site doesn't say much more than it increases flow. How do they attach, etc.. What to they work best attached to, pump, return, closed loop...? Thanks!

Search for "eductors" for a general description and "penductors" to get a PDF the company that produces most of the ones typically seen for sale for use in tanks. The one at marine depot is produced by a separate company that connects a penductor to a short length of Loc-Line and has what appears to be a 3/4" MPT connector. HTH

Thanks, I was wondering if they worked like eductors. Is it a good idea to put a 1" to 3/4" adaptor on my return line (all 1" line) and then screw in the flow accelerator? Are they worth the $?

they work really good, i have one on my 72 and am going to put 2 on my 90 when it get set up. i have a mag 3 ruturn for my 72 and the single educator and its like a sand storm in there i had to aim it way up. i love em

Hmmm... I like how that sounds. Are you going to split your return line? HOw well do they take care of dead spots?

I noticed that the pacific coast is $10 less than the other penductors offered. Is it a quality issue or a name brand issue? Also, can the pacific coast ones be bent to face the direction wanted or are they best across the top of the water?

I use 4 of them on my 220 and they actually do what they say that they will do. The flow out of them is at least doubled. I can feel a rush of water flow near the intakes of these things. i actually had to turn down a return as it was causing a sandstorm in my tank. For $14 you cant go wrong...

They do work really well if your pump can handle the extra head pressure. Mine is about 2" below the surface and it was sucking in water so hard it was pulling air into it. I had to make a guard across the top. The only thing is their loc line is a little bit different size(smaller) than regular loc line so you can't really extend it if you need to. Definitely worth the money tough.

Is it flexible or is using a 45 degree pvc pipe the best way to turn it?

They come on loc-line. I was already setup with lock-line so it was easy for me to add to my returns from my closed loop.

Is the attachment tool needed? I hear that they don't fit on loc-line well. Since I have never used loc-line, I have no idea how it attaches.

The attachment tool is a ripoff. Just muscle it on/off.
