Pagoda Cup Placement

I picked up a Pagoda Cup this afternoon and noticed that it has an actual base.
My question is does the cup need to sit flatly on the base (which would place it horizontally) or can I place it on an angle like in the following picture.

I like the way it looks in the tank like this better, but I want to make sure that I'm not stressing the edges of the cup and they will break.

We have had this for about a year. It has grown very nice since then. We actually had it in out 220 for sometime before we built the seahorse tank. In the 220 it never greened up this nice or had that great of polyop extension. In the seahorse tank it just took off like made . In 2 months it went from looking sorda like your to this. The seahorse tank stays at 72 and is feed phyto almost everyday b/c of all the filter feeders in the tank. We actually use the cup coral as a feeding plate for the horses. Works out really well. I would keep it as flat as you can.

I think it will be fine where its at. It really depends on The light and flow in that area. Keep an eye on it and if it looks unhappy in a week, move it to a different spot

Thanks all. gnu the picture of mine was taken about 30 after the lights went out so the polyps had retracted for the night (gone to sleep). It hasn't had a full day of lighting in the tank yet so I don't know how it will look yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and move it if needed.

Mine is pretty high up in the tank. It is tilted, but not as tilted as it seems in the pic.

Mines at a medium height in the tank and tilted about 45°.

The lights are due to come on in couple of min so I'll keep an eye on him/her and see how he/she does over the next couple of days.

The actinics have been n for a couple of hours already and he/she is starting to open up.
