Painting the back of a 90gal tank - how?

Whats the paint called that you paint on the back of a glass tank? How many cans will it take to paint a 42x18x24? Do you paint over the overflow area or leave that open so you can see whats going on in there?

I use a simple dark blue/green/black latex...it will peel off if you dont like it..and you can do it again. You only need a small part of a quart. It will take 3- 4 coats, use a simple foam brush.

I've used flat black spray paint.

you can use just regular paint i believe but if you want to paint with spraypaint i have heard the krylon fusion is good and you can also paint your plumbing that sits in the water with no ill effect
someone correct me if i am wrong
but i think its easier to use a roller and maybe some outdoor paint
