I have a TL550(28G) for 7 years. It has a pair of ocellaris,4 btas and some zoanthus.

The female (orange ocellaris) and the male (black ocellaris) always lived as a couple, including, spawning almost every month for many years.

Until last month....When they stopped swimming together, spawning, and the female began to attack the male.

I had never heard of it before. What happened? Did the male turn female after so many years?

Once my male saddleback killed the female that he was paired with. Anything can happen with these fish. Separate them or one will end up dead.

My clownfish did that last month. They been together for two years. The female fought the male for couple of days and then they are back together now in the nem.

the top of anemonefish Queue is to be a Female......

While the dominant Female mantain the rest of the Queue under pressure........the dominant male will try to find a weak spot to force dominance over the Female........

If the female show weak sign........the male will fight to reach the top of the Queue........
