Okay so i just got a pair and the one clown is quite small and I feel as if my powerhead (Koralia 3) on my 46 is too strong for him because he's having a hard time swimming? IS this bad? Or should I just let him be?
I hardly see a K3 being too much for any healthy clown. I would be worried about the health of the clown. I own 8 Occy's( 7 juvies) with powerheads up to 1600 GPH, without problems.

?
A K3 is more than strong enough to blow around a small clown. I have some small enough that a K3 would easily suck them in and chew them up.
Its hard to tell if the powerhead is too strong without knowing the size of the clown. Your "quite small" and mine aren't likely even close to the same size. Don't forget clowns love to play in current. They will swim up the the powerhead and let it blow them clear across the tank. Its a game they play.
I was assuming these were clowns that were purchased, not bred by the OP.
If they were, they would be old, strong and large enough.
2 of my 7 juves are fairly small(1" approx).
And no, a K3 could never suck up a sellable clown.
Getting blown around from being directly in front of PH is one thing, stuggling to swim in the area of the PH is another.
Now I understand your reply. Thats just down right wrong. ORA and quality breeders, never do this. I own 1 ORA Occy, but 7 from a breeder. If I may, Kerusso316 is an excellent breeder from the midwest area. I "think" he ships. Otherwise my other GSM's I have no lineage on, were purchased at adulthood(sexable).
No breeder should sell clowns at that age. Rediculous.
To the OP, I hope the lack of silence is not a bad sign.
