Pairing Bicolor Angels?

File under bad idea probably but has anyone done it? I can't find much on sexual dichromatism. Is there a size at which they would become male as most of the bicolors I see are all the same size, so would make it pointless in trying.
Any real thoughts would be good.

lol, but don't forget, they started in the 125 with the lemon peel pair, cocos lemon pair, coral beauty pair, multicolor pair, 5 jocs, 5 candy basslets, and others I think...

So how did you do it? just chuck two in, select size difference, tiny individuals, know the secret for sexing, cast a magic spell?

and do you think as you had multiple (somehow that word doesn't sound big enough) angels that you just diluted any aggression? It would only be those two angels for me.

I was able to get a pair of Potter's angels by getting a medium and slightly smaller specimen. There was a couple days of squabbling (really intense for the first couple hours), but eventually the smaller of the two relented and became submissive to the larger. This was in a 20 gallon quarantine. They lived in the 20 gallon for 6 months before I finally put them in my 160. You might as well try for a pair, but just be prepared to yank one out if it starts getting too beat up.

While that is true, when they come from an online order there's no way to ensure the sexes.

I ordered mine from QM and sent them a picture of a pair to ensure that's what they sent me. Worked out to my advantage

I just moved a pair from their QT to my 90 reef DT. They were in a 40B QT for 8 weeks. I got a small one and large one and put them in at the same time, just them. 2 same pieces of PVC and "expendable" live rock. I'll try and take a video and post it.

I would venture to say all are born female so getting two at different sizes will greatly help the chance of a pair without the posturing and aggressive actions like you would have with two similar sized ones until they sort things out or one dies. :sad2:

That is kinda my thoughts but all those I see are around 3" minimum and was wondering if that was too big for it to be a certain female (assuming they do begin female and change). I know it is reasonably easy to sex flame angels but you tend to only see males around my way but that could be because the shops pick for that size.

Finding one around 2" and one any size bigger would be best but could prove to be difficult
