I'm getting a 2 year old Maroon clown from a friend tomorrow. I will temporarily have it in a 24 gallon for about a week until my 56 is converted from reef to FOWLRAA (and anemone). What would be the best chance of creating a pair? Buy a small fish and introduce them to the 56 at the same time or one before the other?

you should introduce the female first - the big one your friend is getting you. Then introduce them male - a small one. I personally had to put my male in a small clear berry container with an onion mesh covering since the female was attacking him so fiercly. In the container she tried to attack him for a few days, but finally stopped. A week later, I let him out and they were fine.
