Pajama & banggai Cardinal.

Never kept both of them together and never had a bangaii, but had a few PJs. The PJs are very peaceful and will be just fine with clownfish.

Not a problem keeping them together and both fine with clowns.
Both the cardinals are very peaceful fish, bagghi not so with their own kind unlass a sexed pair, but fine with other fish including other cardinals.

If we are talking about the 55g tank then not a problem.
personally i would go for a pair of baghi's and a trio of PJ's

I have kept them together with no issues.

But be cautious once they are established and larger. They will eat other fish. I had a pair of PJs that were .5" when I got them. After a year they were about 3" from tip to tail. I added a small A. percula clown, and the cardinals tried to eat him.

They are peaceful fish, but they do have large mouths.

True they do have large mouths as cardinal fish mouth brood there young. Never seen or heard anything that would lead me to beleve they would each another fish though.

michael_cb_125 - thxs for the info I have 2 picasso clowns that are pretty small. If they were to get eaten I'd be pretty PO. I think I might hold off on them for now or I ight just get them and throw them in my other tank where there is no small fishes. Thxs again.

I had to pull my Clarkki out of the 30gl it shared with a Banggai and put him in my QT. Both are about 3 inches. The clown was merciless towards the cardinal. Now I'm finally getting to see a whole new personality emerge from the Banggai now it doesn't have to stay in the one spot the clown thought the cardinal should stay in.

I've got 7 PJ's and 4 or 5 Bangaii's in my tank. While they don't hang out with eachother, they all coexist just fine.

Hope this is not a hijack - do PJs keep their color as they grow, or get drab as adults?

They keep their color just fine. Here are a few pictures of my PJ's. These would be considered adults. I've had them over 1.5 years.

Beautiful fish, slief! I think Pajama cardinals are underrated fish. They are not super active, but I like to see their fins flicking, and I love how they look like three different fish put together--like a Dr. Seuss character or something. It is for this reason that I named mine Theo (Dr. Seuss's first name is Theodore).

I took these today of one of my Bangai's that's holding. If the babies didn't become part of the food chain, I'd have thousands of Bangai's & PJ's.

I have 2 big pj's and a big bangai and a clown . They are all happy , although weird thing is one of the pj hangs out tottaly by him self like he's kicked out of the club and the other pj and with the cardinal hang out together ...

I had a pair of Bangai Cardinals and recently one died. Should i get another or get a few Pajama? I was thinking 3 Pajama Cardinals. I have a 60 gallon cube with a Bangai, Chalk Bass and Mandarin currently. Very well established but looks for more fish. Suggestions?
