Does anyone have any experience in keeping these?

Yup, they get pretty darn big sometimes as big as 1/2 dollar. Multiple colors as well. Will readily feed and shows good prey capture ability , can be a really fast grower if fed a lot. I don't dip FW dip these, they don't like em. maybe a quick iodine dip ( lugols, Tmpcc or revive ) I don't think nudis go after these guys.

true palythoas and proto palys will slime if you fresh water dip them.

Some people do, collectors or folks that are just into larger polyps that don't want to pay over$50 for 1 polyp smaller than a eraser head.

I can understand wanting larger polyps, but those have very little color. And look like mush, to me.

I totally agree....I wouldnt buy them looking like that.

There are some nice ones that those colors and shape. Some can look like little 1/2 dollar or larger UFO's floating in your tank.

Larger colonies of Grandis look very nice and take up some space. Smaller frags / colonies don't really look that great, but give them time...

I disagree on the size. I have some that are nearly two years old and silver dollar size. I saw some four year old green ones at an LFS in Miami that were about 3.5 inches across. Incredible color!! Of course they only had one frag and they wanted $100 for it (they didn't want to sell, but I pushed it)


My palys. Brown in the middle are the oldest. Brown/white to the lower right are a separate group I picked up in January. Green ones to the left I also got in January.

www.coralmorphologic.com has some that are bluish-purple and brown. I think they are lovely.
