Paraguard and/or prazipro

Howdy Folks,

I've been doing some heavy reading lately and I've noticed a lot of folks tend to treat their QT or TTM tanks with either of the above. What has been your experiences? Seachem seems to be pretty adamant that paraguard will kill ich if you follow their directions to the letter, has anyone had any experience with it? Before anyone says it, I know about the standard 3 ways to remove ich, I'm just curious if anyone has actually effectively used paraguard?

Thanks

I haven't heard anyone confirm Paraguard in terms of killing Ich; it is possible that it might kill some parasites in certain life cycle stages, but highly likely not every life cycle stage nor 100%. I'd be curious what Seachem says as to how it works.

Prazipro however is a must in QT's, IMO/E; will get rid of Flukes flawlessly.

I've found several places (including the seachem website) that states that paraguard is effective against several parasites, including ich, IF administered properly (which can get pretty expensive).

It seems to good to be true, so for the mean time, I'm sticking with TTM. However, I was just curious if any of y'all have experience with it.

As for prazipro, can you effectively do this while doing the TTM?

Chloroquine Phosphate. I do not believe in using chemicals prophylactic-ally on fish except for flukes (prazipro) and only use them in response to a problem/condition. TTM is easy and 100% effective for prophylactic removal of ich and best only takes 12 days. CP and copper will both work well with a slight nod towards CP. Hyposalinity, despite "issues" involved with execution will work as well.

Prazipro will not work for ich but its great for flukes and worms. I treat all new fish with at least two rounds of it.
I dont have much experience with paraguard but personally use the tank transfer method for ich.

Yes. I do TT with Prazi then 30 days in a cycled QT on every fish. I've never had a problem with this protocol.
