ParaGuard and Velvet

I have two engineering gobies in a hospital tank that I have been treating with Paraguard for marine velvet. I tried treating with cupramine at first and they made it very clear they would not survive the full copper treatment. They acted like it was acid way before I could raise the copper to the proper concentration. I removed the copper after a week and began treating with Paraguard. This seems to be working. I have been dosing the recommended amount every day for 34 days. The fish show no sign of the disease anymore but I see quite a few very small pods still alive crawling around on the glass. This make me worry that if these pods have survived then some velvet may have to and that if I quit dosing than velvet will spread to the fish. Shouldn't all the tiny pods be killed by the Paraguard if it can kill velvet? Or are they a lot tougher than velvet? Has anyone successfully treated with copper or Paraguard seen living pods in they're hospital tank afterwards?

More info; I am seeing quite a bit of color loss in the gobies, I assume from the extend Praguard treatment. The living pods are about as small as you can see with the naked eye.

I would really appreciate any advice, thanks.

Para guard won't kill the pods, I am using it right now and my pods are unaffected. Copper kills everything. Para guard doesn't. I have noticed that pods live thru Chloroquine Phosphate treatment also. If you ever have questions about para guard call Seachem customer support they have the answers to all of your questions

Thanks, I have emailed Seachem. In past conversations with Seachem they assured me that Paraguard will eliminate velvet. Have you ever been successful treating velvet or ich with Paraguard?

Ich and thats what im treating for again. The last fish I was able to isolate and treat with para guard, this time im treating the whole tank

Seachem has responded and says that copepods are unaffected by ParaGuard. They said that the velvet has likely been eradicated from my tank.

I would sure feel more confident that the velvet was gone if all the pods were dead. I will quit dosing now and observe for 30 days before adding fish to my display.

Buy a cheap fish and see what happens, I know para guard works I just don't know how quickly it works for velvet
