Since my last updated I removed the powersweep and a hydor evo pump and replaced them with an MP10. Best decision I made in a while. Better flow all over the tank and the tank temperature stays more stable.
What are you using time wise for your light cycle ?. I picked up a similar LED light and I'm struggling to figure out how long to run whites / blues and at what intensity. So far the corals aren't very happy with the change over from MH.
For my light cycle I have the blues start around noon, and then around 1:00 or so the whites come on. The whites stay on till about 6:30 and the blues turn off around 8:00. I have the lights running around 50% power.
Here are some updated pictures of the cube. Not the best but you can get the idea. Some pieces in the tank arent completely happy at the moment. During that period of warm temperatures we had my tank water got up to 86 while we were away and both of my duncans closed up and havent really opened up much since then.
I also lost half of an sps frag that was in the top portion of the tank. My large emerald crab popped it off the rock when he was cleaning and it fell right into the gold torch below but atleast half of it is still alive and looking good. I also had a little problem with my green slimer as it turned white with just green polyps, but as of lately I can start seeing the color coming back to it.
I also changed to a different brand of salt. I was running low on reef crystals and I wanted to try something new so I picked up a box of Seachem reef salt.
Picture of my female emerald crab. I think she might be carrying eggs under the flap on her stomach.
ParanoidObseshn,
I see your using stand brackets for your lights... How do you like them? I'm looking into them for a larger build. Do they flex at all, seem fairly stiff?
Rich,
So far I really like using them to hold up the light fixture. They are secured in several spots behind the stand and barely move when the light is attached.
Well this past week has been a little crazy as far as my tank goes. On saturday I started on what was going to be my tank upgrade, A 40Breeder build. Long story short, that upgrade didnt work and now I am back to my 27cube. At least the cube got a good cleaning, was relocated, and got an all new aquascape. Here is a picture of the cube 2 days after being set back up.
Tank now has 2 MP10Wes. Just need to find good placements for them and they will both be running fairly low.
