I just ordered 6100.700 from Tunze.com (mine were all worn out)
any idea how long i should expect this to arrive? is it coming from Germany, or do you have them in stock?
Thanks

I assume it would be safe so soak my 6100 in 100% vinegar overnight to have it clean like new?
that combined with the new 6100.700 will make me feel like i have a new stream!

Roger, is 9005.140 the 9010 skimmer cup?

i am thinking of getting it for my 9015 to skim more agressively.

I know the 9015 is rated to be a stronger skimmer, but the way i see it, if the cup is shorter, it will collect more foam than the 9015 which has to push the foam higher up before being exported.

As a mater of fact, i would think the 9015 is probably a weaker skimmer and the only advantage would be that it can last longer between cup cleanings.

I noticed that even if i dont feed my tank for a week, the skimmer continues to pull out the same amount of skimmate leading me to believe that those nutrients must have been in the water from a few days ago but were just not skimmed out. My glass also continues to grow a film of algae every day or two and i only have 6 fish. I feel like this skimmer should be doing a better job and I am wondering if the shorter cup of the 9010 would make it more aggressive.

The optimum is actually the foam riser 9020.14, it is about an 1" shorter and it allows the most skimming. The 9010 cup is 220.14. It gets it's name from the last generation of skimmers that is why the number doesn't fit.

the 9020.14 would be more agressive than the 9015 and 9010? can it be used without the drain? and i assume it fits right in the 9015?
otherwise, would you agree that the 9010 would in actuality be more agressive than the 9015?

also note that those parts do not show up on the Spare Parts section of your site.

No, I don't agree the 9010 is more agressive, the skimmate is wetter so it looks like more, that's all.

The 9020.14 is called Foam Extraction Unit, it is a drain with no cup.

hmmm, so you dont think changing the cup would make my skimmer work harder... is there anything you could think of that might help me "overdrive" this skimmer?

thats what i figured, a shorter riser would make it more agressive, that is why i thought the 9010 cup would be more agressive.
