PC Lighting and Xenia

my suggestion is if you are going with any kind of flourescents go with VHO or t5...

never invest in the half a$$ alternative, go with halides, you wont be sorry :)

I already have PC in my PNP JBJ 12 gallon Nano, I just wanted to know if I should get new bulbs that have more light output and if anyone has ever tried it out.

Had xenia in 3x24w PC per 64l (aprox 17gal) grown like crazy, splitted in 3 parts in about 2 months, then each frag doubled its size in the next month. Now growing under MH, and id say it was better back then under PC.

I used 2x Actynic 1x10000k AM lightning

Does great under PCs. in fact it did great under normal output flo bulbs before PCs were invented. PCs are -HO T5 bulbs, but some prefer straight bulbs with individual reflectors. Watt for watt they are the same output lightwise.

When I was still playing around, I had xenia and some palys growing under t8 shop lights and CFL bulbs from home depot in my mangrove swamp. Not the most picky of corals.

like khaosinc said some xenia will grow under any light. and then you have some that wont grow under any light except the light in which they were fragged from. they are a feast or famine coral.

Alright thanks, so much. My xenia are in my boyfriends tank right now under T5s and I was going to move them into my nano with the PCs, but I did not want to kill them off.
