PE variation

I have done everything that I possibly can but still cannot solve my sps mystery. I have good pe on sps like birds nest or any sps that has fuzzy polyp. However, any sps with more define polyp/hairy like green slimer, I have no pe. I can maintain the colour and see the polyp inside the frag but it just won't come out.

I gave those frags to my friend and polyp came back out in a couple of days.

Water parameters are good (alk 9, cal 400, ph 8.1, no3 2.5, po4 0.05).

I tried turning uv, GAC, GFO, skimmer off and running poly filter with no immediate improvement.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?

Lastly, i use RC and TMPR with B ionic 2 part.

Do your sps corals show any polys during dark periods when all your fishes are asleep?

If they do, then fishes are likely to be the suspects. Otherwise, I would suggest that you experiment feeding your fishes with high protein food, such as RS mysis for a short period, e.g. a week or ten days, twice a day. I assume that you have plenty of flow, good lights and a skimmer.

Cheers

I have a little citron goby that is reeking havoc on my pe. He is a tiny fish and keeping almost all my acros closed up tight.

Had one years ago...he would actually eat the damn polyps!
