Peaceful Damselfish suggestions

I'm tired of losing my Green Chromis (I usually start with 6 and end up with 2) and want to try a school of Damselfish. Which type can I keep that are peaceful and can be kept in groups?

In aquariums, nearly none of them will be happy in groups. The best you're gonna do on that front is these guys, and even then I don't think it'll fly forever:
(Chrysiptera springeri)

Really you're probably limited to 2 pairs of relatively chill chrysiptera or chromis in your 120g. Tuxedo damsels, blackbar chromis, yellowbelly damsels (C. hemicyanea), and a few others are good choices.

It is not a damsel but try those, I have three in my tank so far no problems. Vanderbuilt chromis

Blue Reef Chromis (Chromis cyaneus) are (IMO) a much more attractive fish than most Chromis. They also get along quite well, if they have the room. They're price for a chromis though, about $20 per. I think the idea of finding damsels that will get along long-term is really wishful thinking. I wish i had a dollar for every frustrated hobbyist who went nuts tearing a tank apart to remove the little bastards.

I purchased two recently and they never showed up the next morning.

What about Talbot's or Allen's damsels. There are reputed to be the most peaceful and easy going damsels, although i doubt they will school as they have no need to in a tank.

How long does it take most people to start losing their green chromis'? I started off with 8 and now I have 6 which seems to be getting along fine at the moment. Does this usually change or does the die off happen usually right away? I've had them since Sept. 14th

I usually lose two within the first two weeks then they dwindle down each month. I have two that are going strong together for a year.

I keep a group of 4 yellow tail blue damsels in my 75 with some lyre tail anthias, black ocellaris clownfish and one green chromis. The damsels are just as peaceful as my chromis. I'm even thinking about adding another 4 yellow tails to my tank because they do so well and aren't killing each other off like my chromis keep doing. Just like clown fish, not all damsels fall into the stereotype of being super aggressive terrors in our tanks. I have seen many clarki and maroon clowns that would kick a damsels ***. I can only speak for these two species but I would definitely keep buying the yellow tail and Azure damsels. Both are hardy, absolutely stunning fish with a peaceful attitude that don't break the bank.

Blue reef chromis don't do well in captivity, IME.

A couple of posts said the same thing, probably something to it. I've kept 5 for about 3 years and had several for at least 4 years prior to Katrina. I've always considered them easy. But some fish just don't do well for some and are great for others. I can't keep a porcupine puffer alive---no idea why, I've tried many over many years.
