Pencil Wrasse thread

So far the Splendid Pencil wrasse pair have been great, even if they have not stay more than 72 hrs in my tank. Ty are out and hunting all day long. I have not seen them eat pellets yet but I am sure they will soon. They are very active and fast. It is difficult to take good pictures of them.

After 1 week, my pair is doing really well. They eat everything, especially pellets via automatic feeder. They hunt all day long and also eat nori from the clip. I consider Splendid Pencil Wrasse an easy wrasse to keep.

My Female Splendid Pencil Wrasse is changing. These are pictures on 6/22/2025 and 7/3/2025. The blue and Yellow lines are more prominent and the tail black spots are there where they were not before. They are easy to keep and eat everything, in my limited experience.

Last night picture under bluer light as the tank like shut down for the night sow the color changes better

Wow, amazing change is such a short time.

Safe to say my female Splendid wrasse is in transition to a male. However, there is no fighting with the male.the female still is significantly smaller she is closer to my iPhone here so she looks longer

My smaller Splendid Pencil Wrasse is clearly, indisputable male wrasse. However both males coexist without fighting. They spend a lot of the time together.
