Peninsula Style Look-Down Build

how do you mount the powerbrite LEDs to the nova extreme pro?

I drilled holes in the slots where the legs slide into. I then screwed the powerbrite mounts into those holes. I then mounted the powerbrites. I took the acrylic shield off also to hide the wires from the link cables, and allow airflow around the bulbs. (the fans are junk).

"post #112= Excellent photo!!! looking better and better. "

Thanks Mark! ... though go figure, thats the tank that was torn down to make way for the 30. :(

thanks G.

Welp, I added a yellow tang and a few zoanthids last night. The tang eats mysis like a pig, so i have high hopes that it will do well. It also decimated the remaining hair algae on the rocks. :)

more photos coming someday

No pictures... :/

If anyone has a rimless 30 breeder tank lying around... LMK. (phhh yeahhh right).

Seriously though, I think a phone call to miracles is in order.

HAHA. Soon Cully :)

Thanks Jon.

I really got to thinking about it... How far away is miracles from Rochester? I NEED A RIMLESS TANK and remove this piece of junk aga.

I also have to get out to buf to get that ATO... SO MUCH ... too little time... NOT ENOUGH $$ GAH

Well its about 1 hour and 20 min or so to get there from the b-lo. All depends on how the crossing is. Maybe for you 3 hours if you beat feet. I havent made the trip up there in a long time tho.

indeed! I realize powerbrites are an essential to coral poppage. well i guess not necessarily... but i like them a lot.

When are we going to see some progress (cough photos and livestock) on your build thread backdraft?!?! JK :)

Well I replaced my only daylight bulb with a blue aquascience bulb.

now running 4 blue bulbs, and 2 purple ones. the tank although quite blue... suits my taste perfectly :)

what do you think? (i love my green acro!)

oh and the brain... ATE many cardinalfish :(

also the hammer is still very mad.

alk was 11dkh
Calcium was 520 (high)
SG 1.026
temp 79ish

i'm just very confused. all my other corals (minus the slimer acro) look good. I got rid of my daylight... perhaps it was too much PAR for such a shallow tank. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated though.

I changed my bulb lineup to 4x ati blue+, fiji pueple, ati pure actinic a couple days ago. My ORA frogspawn and red planet are mostly white with colors on the coralites so I'm guessing they were getting too much light.

I like the look a lot, the colors are fantastic. The ATI blue+ and fiji purple have good PAR output and the good fixture and reflectors help. I'm going to give it a few weeks and see if the SPS are getting enough of the spectrum they need.

Several people on N-R use your fixture with only 5 bulbs on a 30g breeder because 6 can be too many even for some SPS. Tank looks good tho, love your new camera.
