well, my shrimp just molted 4 days ago and he is out now, but they are supposed to be nocturnal, but he is out all day and doesnt act right, kinda like he is dying, he ate all the nuisance shrimp the first night i had him, which was 2 weeks ago, do you think he is starving? any help will be appreciated!

I'm not not really an expert on sick shrimp as I never had problems with them but maybe the salinity or other water parameters are on the limits.
Salinity is very difficult to be quite sure even with a good refractometer. I would try to doublecheck this first (LFS, fellow reefers, calibration standard, etc.).

my water has been tested, everything is pristine, also, no other shrimp is acting this way, i was just wondering if this is common after a molt

well, to update, as i knew he would, he dies, he had a very soft shell still, anyways, lol, my dog enjoyed him!!! my wife got mad at me, didnt want to waste the 10 dollars!!! lol

also, i just purchased a bi color angel and i have a long nose butterfly, would these have bothered him?

I'm not an expert so don't quote me on this but I'd avoid giving tank items to your dog. While typically things found in your tank are from water and your dog lives on land, there may be some bacterias and the like that could be harmful to your pup carried on things in the tank. There's one in particular I know that humans can get but I forget the name but it manifests itself as a really nasty infection. I'm going to assume you're a wonderful dog owner and know all the usual foods to not feed a dog, but next time a tank critter goes by the wayside you may want to simply flush the ex-critter or put it out with the trash for the sake of the dog.

Really not trying to sound like I'm being negative but just concerned about your pet is all.

yes, this may be tru, but not much can effect a properly vaccinated healthy dog, she is always up to date on all vaccinations and all shots, the shrimp dies most likely from lack of food, once the aptasia died he might not have been used to eating anything else. plus he had just molted a few days earlier so the molt process and lack of food most likely did it in, lol, i would never do anything that would harm my dog, think of it this way, wild dogs will eat anything, from sea or land dead alive or rotting, and they live just fine with no =vaccinations, so, she will be fine, thanks though!
