peppermint shrimp with gigs

Hey guys, just wondering if peppermint shrimps are safe with gigs and other carpet nems, a bit cautious due to their appetite for glass anemones.

I don't know.

You know I have some in both my tanks. While I've never busted them eating my "good" nems, the fact they eat anemone's at all, makes me wonder if they would eat any and/or all anemone's if they get hungry enough. I wouldn't add any to my tanks again. Just me though. I HAVE caught them stealing food from anemone's I have fed, but that's taking it out of their mouths, AFTER the anemone closes it's mouth.

If it was me, I would NOT add them. But, in a system that is doing well, with anemone's that are doing well, they most likely aren't a problem. Just my guess, which could be totally wrong.

I got a peppermint shrimp....he used to molest my bubble tip.

he would always hide underneath or near it....you could tell anemone was not too happy.

I've always had peppermint shrimp and anemones. They've never bothered anything, except for aiptasia. When the aiptaisa get too large they won't touch them either. They go for the smaller ones only. If I find large ones I have to get them with Aiptasia-X.

I never have anyproblem with Pepermint shrimp in my anemone aquarium. I also find that they will not touch larger aptasia also.

I put two tiny ones in my tank to get rid of some small aptasia, haven't seen them in 3 weeks but my aptasia was gone almost overnight...

Haven't seen them since, and everything is doing great. I have a cleaner shrimp (used to have two) until he wandered directly into the purple gig and became dinner. Think the second one saw and now lives in the cave under my gig.
