Perc + Haddoni Carpet Hosting Question

Hi All,

Here is the scenario. I finally located and got a very nice blue carpet anemone (S. Haddoni) and have it in my tank. I have a resident pair of black and white ocellaris clowns that were hosting to a sebae anemone. I pulled the sebae when I added the carpet. To make a long story short, the clowns refused the new carpet and actually abused it....pulled at the mouth etc distressing it. I placed the sebae back in the tank and the clowns took to it and are leaving the carpet alone.

My question is will true percula clowns (WC Onyx pair) have a higher chance of hosting to my carpet?

I am looking to replace my pair of clowns but want to get some opinions first.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Scott

I am not sure if an Onyx will host the carpet or not. The more important question would be will the carpet eat the clowns? It may saound strange but it seems the more I read about carpets the more I hear that they have been know to eat the clown that is hosting them.

As I do not have a carpet ot any other anemone for that matter please take my opinion as a grain of salt. Just wanted to pass along my impressions.

pulled at the mouth etc distressing it.

Clowns will do that to an anemone that is not doing well (except for black saddlebacks, they will do this just for fun  ).

How is your blue carpet doing now?
