Hello all, I had the pleasure of actually catching my captive raised false perc's spawning the other day, and took a few photo's. Unfortunately, they are bad parents and my cleaner shrimp ate the eggs about a half hour later!
Here is the male cleaning the rock right before the female started depositing the eggs...notice the Hammer coral they host in is all withdrawn..the clown's constantly nipped at the coral to keep it at bay:
Here you can see the female ready to deposit the eggs:
Here the female has started depositing the eggs, the male is just showing off!
And the male doing his thing...you can see the eggs underneath his left dorsal fin:
And the last one...egg's visable under the female's abdomen:
