Perseid Meteor Shower

Finally got a chance to really test out the sensor on my new camera and lens (Nikon D750 + Tamron 24-70). While I do live in the suburbs, unless you go deep into the woods, there's light pollution everywhere. I stayed out until 1:30am taking photos and generally just being in awe of the meteor shower.

The low light capability of this camera is unreal. Comparing shots I took with my previous body (D5200), it really is night and day.

Gorgeous shots! I have the D5200. Might make the jump to full frame just need to look at all my options and shop around.

Good for you Nick...I was thinking of asking my daughter if she wanted to go out and snap some of these. But quickly came to the realization that I like my sleep.

Cool shots for sure...

Very nice!! I'm highly impressed with the sharpness of your stars. I like my camera enough for daytime shooting but am learning fast that I need to step away from my entry-level body if I want to get a better grasp on handling low-light shooting. My camera is just way too noisy over ISO 800 for my liking.
