Hi

I'm just wondering if percs or ocellaris clowns can be kept with nems other than their natural hosts. (which seem kind of difficult to keep)

Could I get one to host a Bubble tip or another easier nem?
What types have your clowns hosted that weren't their natural host?

Thanks

Matt

I've had Ocellaris in LTA's. There are many people that keep these clowns in BTA's. Check out the "Percula club" thread for pics.

I have my black ovellaris clowns in an rbta but I know some people have trouble getting true/false percs to host hence why they put pics etc on their tank to try and get them to host...

perc and bta

perc and bta

Just purchased a perc and placed him inside my tank. Took maybe 3-5 min. and he went to my GBTA and is going crazy inside it. I think they are insteant buddies!:D thanks PP

Thanks guys.

And prison police, thats great! It gives me confidence to try pairing the two together. How long have you had the GBTA? Do you have any pictures of the two together?

Matt

My RBTA hosts my ocellaris. It did take 3 weeks, though. The clown ignored it for the first week, hung around the RBTA's side of the tank the second week, hovered above the nem the third week, then finally went inside after that. It was kind of funny to watch.

H. crispa sebae anemone is said to be a natural host to A. percula but not their primary host anemone (i'm still looking for underwater pics).
