Pest Bite Marks

My green birdsnests in my QT tank have not had the greatest polyp extension lately and have been showing extruded filaments in-between their polyps. Does this look like bike marks from a pest, bleaching or tissue necrosis?

I'm using a Canon rebel T2i with a 50mm f 1.4 lens and Kenko extension tubes. It's able to get some nice shots for the price. The only things with the tubes is the subject must be very close. This is only using the 36mm tube, it comes with 3 which can be linked together, 12mm 20mm and 36mm. This shot is f22 with a long shutter. These tubes work great with the 50mm lenses.

Well, it looks like flat worms but flatworms only prey on smooth skin acroporia . Did you try dipping it with Bayer or any aource

Since it is birdsnest, i would have to say that it is not AEFW. They are not known to prey on birdsnest. neither are red bugs or nudis. I think that it is some sort of tissue necrosis. RTN or STN. My ORA green started looking a little ragged on the tips and i moved it in a bit higher flow.

They have been in the QT for while now. I'm trying to decide if I should try moving them to the display with better water parameters but have been afraid this is caused by a pest.

Sorry, I have no answer... But, that is beautiful photography. How about you shoot some more and post in the photography forum. I'd love to check out some of your shots! :)

I totally disagree. Flatworms may have a slight preference for smooth skin Acropora sp., but readily infest heavily textured acros as well, such as A. millepora. I know from experience.

Yeah, it is. I fragged off a lot but it keeps reaching the healthier areas. I think these are goners.
Would have been really nice if my dosing unit arrived last week...
