petco gig and gig/hadoni hybrid

Rule #1....

If thou findeth a Gigantea at Petco, thou must guard thy tank, and call for help! Thou must always remember that a Petco Gig is rare and immedately bagith the animal.

Thou must keepeth thy emotions under control and never giveth any ID information to Petco employee, so that more gig will cometh in and nobody will knoweth.

Hahaha...ok lesson learned :headwally:

I think is a very beautiful animal, even brown. Having 5 Petco Gigantea, they all color up to some color after you get them healthy. Maybe not really bright color but most will be light green.

You can always put a color LED over him :)

I agree! They are a beautiful animal no matter the color.

Bag em when you find em!

Let it settle down for a few months, get healthy then you can decide. He look very much like a newly imported Gigantea to me. I hav ehad two carpets anemones that I think are hybrid. I also have a few Gigantea that looked short tentacles only to elongated and look much more normal after a few months.

+1. I've had gigantea with various tentacle length. I agree to let it settle in, and after a month or so, if the tentacles are still short, then you can start thinking about whether it's a hybrid or not.

so, i tried moving the rock he's on to face the front of the tank, it appears as if he's attached to the bottom of the tank/on the sandbed and not on the rock... have any of your gigs done this?

P.S. to be clear, i'm not trying to refute what you guys are saying, just adding as much details in as I can

LOL... sounds like your nem is going through an identity crisis! When in QT all of my gigs attached to the glass, so it's not uncommon. In the wild they're known to partially bury their foot but like to attach to a hard surface. Once in the DT, my gigs always climbed up onto rocks, but in other people's tanks, they've attached to the bottom of the tank or close the the sandbed on a rock.

LOOL, he's confused. Also, does neon green around it's mouth and just overall on it's tissue mean anything in terms of identification of what type of nem it is?

He looks nice regardless. Already the tentacles are longer. My Gigantea does have color lip.
For the price, you can't beat it.

Thanks! Ye im definitely not complaining, just trying to learn from the forum experts! You think there's a chance that these colors arent their true colors, and they color up to more yellowish after being under my lights for a few months? Has it ever happened with your gigs?

My Gigantea/Haddoni hybrid is yellow with a light green tinted, He is right under two 250W DE MH so he really get a lot of light. I think he is really beautiful. Somehow, my camera get bands when I try to take picture of this tank so I am not able to take good picture of him.
