That Gigantea is 20+ inches when he unfold without obstruction. The Purple one is slightly less, about 18 inches or so. They are cramped together.

I recently got a very small (about 3" but healthy) from their most recent allocation. I believe its from the same set yours came from (same vendors) as it arrived at the store the week before you said you got yours. The bigger one that arrives in the same shipment I'm sure is a gig, but the small one I have I'm not sure. Didn't get a chance to take a pic of or really look at the column. Here's a pic of it under my par30 LEDs

You should see the video's he has... LOL.. It is MASSIVE...

I would love to sit and watch it for hours. Good thing he lives in TX.. LOL...

These guys are amazing... I wish my petco would carry them. :(

You'd really be surprised many "special" petcos are going to this set up with ORA frags and tank. They can use different vendors. Although even the other petcos get a generalized "carpet" in their shipments. So it's worth looking. One of our special Petcos in Houston is in Dickinson.

Monkey is that the one you think is a Gigantae?

What I love about petcos is that they get assorted on all anemones. I picked up a rose anemone at mine for less then 25 dollars and they sometimes get the huge ones so it's definitely worth talking to the aquatics specialist at ten and having them special order you something

My biggest Petco Gigantea bite of more than he could chew today.
I got home from work and my biggest of the three Petco Gigantea looks off. I did not pay too much attention to it other than he seem a little deflated with tentacles looks stingier than normal. Essentially same length but thinner. He seem to be deflated a little. I did not though about it too much because it did not occurred to me that he may be sick.
As it turnout he had indigestion. A few hours later I feed the tank before the light turnout for the night and find that he is in the process of regurgitating my 5 years old tropical abalone. This Abalone have shell of 4.5 inches and is about 8-9 inches in length. He have ate Trocus snails before and had no problem but this abalone is obviously too large for him to digest. I quickly wash my hand the reach in and pull the abalone out. The three pictures below show the picture of him regurgitating the abalone, the picture of the dead abalone and the picture of him after throwing up, some what deflated.
I hope he will be well tomorrow. I don't think he learn very much, and will continue to clean up my snails.
Too bad for me, I have had this abalone for the last 5 years. He was barely 1 inch fully expanded when I got him. RIP. I took him out and bury him in the yard. :(

Regarding my anemone, I hope he will be fine in a day or two.

I wonder how much of it, it actually ate. Or if it did not like it and spit it out.

He ate some. The issue of the abalone is gooey and disolving. The shell fell off the rest of the body. By the time I grab the abalone and pulled it from the anemone, it partially decomposed but does not smell much at all. Becasue of this, I think the decomposition is due to digestive enzymes instead of bacterial breakdow of the flesh.
Other than underside of the foot, the abalone is green. The skin layer is mostly digested as you can see in the picture. The flesh is fuzzy and fragile due to the decomposition.

WOW.. not trying to be mean, so please do not take it that way.

How long do you think it was in there?

I think the last time I see the Abalone was more than 36 hrs before I seen him in the anemone. I have no idea how long it was in the stomach of the anemone

Minh I just love reading your threads about carpets! :)
I just love Percula Clowns and carpets. I'm gearing up to set up my new tank by the end of the year if not sooner than that. I've learned a lot about tanking care of them through yours and many other forum member threads.

This is an update of my Petco Gigantea. Of the three Gigantea two are multi color. Here is the picture of the largest, and the one that deflated. Both are well at this time but hey are only under 150 DE MH. Once (whenever) I got my system set up they will be under a lot brighter light.
