Has anyone tried purchasing fish from Petco online? I notice they now have a 30 day guarantee. If you QT everything for weeks anyway what would the download side be?

I am actually impressed with most of my petco purchases recently. I've bought an emperor angel, Queen angel, powder blue tang, red coris wrasse, magnificent foxface, blonde naso tang, solar fairy wrasse, exquisite fairy wrasse, and a couple others.
The only one I was very unhappy with was the powder blue tang. He was skinny as heck, so stressed he was literally translucent and had a sunken stomach. He didn't make it 24 hours. The blonde naso lived one week and then died randomly.
So I guess with my experience I would say avoid tangs but particularly powder blues. Everything else was pretty great.

One thing that does suck is their inventory management system. Just because it says they have it online doesn't mean they do. Their customer service sucks. But it's 1/2 price of live aquaria. I buy more from live aquaria but for hardier fish or stuff way toonexpnesive on LA I buy from petco
You also cannot cancel or change an order made more than 10-15 minutes earlier. Canceling an order is horrible and if you need a replacement fish just get a refund and buy the same fish again or you'll be waiting 3-6 weeks.

I would like to know why? I've been planning to order from them but went with liveaquaria.

Couple big differences between the two. LA gives you a refund, SWfish gives a credit toward your next purchase. Use a credit and that fish dies you get no 14 day guarantee and only a credit for money you spent beyond shipping cost. I don't know where SWfish.com gets thier livestock from but I can assure you LA source of Quality Marine is far superior
