wow man, you really polished the whole setup!! I had no idea how everything was so accessible from all sides like that, yet all the equipment is nicely hidden.

pure genius the way you used those closet doors folded at 90 degrees like that.

also just noticed the slots you made to hold the doors in place, simple yet effective...

Looks fantastic!

But that Geo kalk reactor looks lonely not hooked up and all;)

absolutely incredible---possible tank of the month?

What a coincidence, I just nominated before reading this post. :)

like ryan said, i didnt relize the tank was so accessible. that counts for alot when doing maintainance. the whole set up is very clean. its very interesting to see how it works out that you can have an inwall tank inside of a fish room, but still be able to see through both sides. pretty slick pete, pretty slick ;)

Tell her she needs new shoes at the same time you try to convince her about your need for some nice coloured stuff for the back of your tank.
I like the way you think :) and I'm sure she would agree

Or just tell her the new corals "appeared" and $200 happened to go missing from the account.
haha - she knows better, and knows me even more so

thanks - even though it's a PITA to get to the front I'm pleased with how it's working out... and to think the guys that delivered it suggested that I shouldn't put it there

I'm all for keeping things simple
at first I wasn't sure how the doors would work out, but now getting things closed in, I'm liking them. I used two regular door blanks on either side. Then took a set of bi-fold doors, split them apart (removed hinges) and trimmed them to fit up against the tank.

I agree - I've been working on other things and just havn't gotten to it. And now, (just to put it off a bit longer) I want to put a water change tank in that room and build a table over it for the reactor, so not sure when I'll get it done.

I'm planning on a ~40-45g retangular tank in that spot and do a water change system (like Ryanbrucks), where I can fill with RO/DI, mix salt and circulate it into the system.

oh - okay, I'll let you get by this time:rolleye1:

here's a little paint update and a question

front side - I'm thinking about painting the wood around the doors with the room color. I think it will help tie the lines from the top to the bottom as it will make the white trim along the entire frame all the same width. But, I'm afraid it may get to busy. What do you think?

here's the back with a couple coats of of white. I'll probably just leave it like this for a while. At first I was thinking about painting the large panel below the tank the upper wall color but the wainscoting in the room is all white.

I really like the white look of the back, and would probably do the same with the front to avoid a busy look.

I think everything looks perfect right now. I really like what you've done with it but its all down to personal preference.

Marc - are you saying you liked the front all white? I thought it was too much ad took away from the tank. I guess the good thing is as you walk in the room you are really too close to pick up on the cabinetry anyway.
