It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make much progress this weekend on my electrical redo as I got family coming in. I do hope to get some new fans installed but need to get a transformer for them. I got a couple old PC power supplies and a 12v lighting xfmr that I could use but would rather keep it small. And it would be nice if the xfmr had an adjustable output do I can dial down the fan speed just in case they make to much noise.

Anyway here are a couple sps pics I took tonight

a nice fuzzy prostrata

an unknown acro I picked up a couple months back that's starting color up with the new lights

and one of my blue tenius that was a 1/2" frag less then a year ago

I can't seem to take very clear pictures of the whole tank or of fish (not sure if its the camera or the camer user), but here's a picture showing several of the fish including most of the tangs. It's getting close to dinner time for them, so they are out looking at me like, hey, don't just stand there; feed us or we will never stand still for you. I do like the colors :)

The colors look really good. Love the tangs and anthias.

my new SQWD came in today, so it looks like I'll be upgrading my closed loop piping to 1"

here is a picture of the new one next to an old one for comparison

and I'm lovong this table, when it started I had no idea it would table so nicely - It looks kind of like my chips acro. It had a nice touch of purple that left when I changed out the light system, I hope it comes back

That SQWD looks huge! :(

that was my exact same first thought when I opened the box, then I was thinking, is this going to fit?

Nice thing is I'll be able to hard pipe it in with a couple unions. I never did like the idea of tubing on my closed loop. I'll post some pictures of the setup when I get it installed.

and thanks for the compliments on the pictures:)

Hows that 1" SCWD running??

Lunchbucket

sorry I was out of town today so I didn't get a chance to hook it up yet

I should add that I was out of town taking my wife to Austin. While I was there I had the opportunity to see Brains reef tank, aka "makoj" Feb 2008 TOTM. I was inspired to say the least, and got some good ideas for my light rack and photoperiods. I also picked up a couple frags - I'll post some pictures of the frags later

Brian's tank is amazing, I agree. Did you grab frags when he wasn't looking? It's really easy. Just tell him there's a small puddle on the floor in the fishroom, and that he should investigate it 'just in case'....

While he's checking for leaks, snag some frags.

Works every time. ;)

:lolspin:

now you tell me, and there was even a puddle, but I didn't tell him as it was from me drooling.

watch it marc, your beginning to sould like a waikiki aquarium rare clam thief! :)

pete, is the 12 xfmr just one of the regular "plug into the wall" types?

they sell ones at radio shack that have adjustable settings on one unit that range from 1.5v up to 12v on the same unit. im not sure if this is what your tanlking about or looking for, but i have one ill take a pic of so you can see what im talking about...

that would work but looking for one that can switch up to the 12v for max speed, but also have the lower settings for slower / quieter speeds

my fans are rated 12vdc 0.33amps

I'd like to find some that are 1.5 amps so I can run 4 fans per xfmr

tks

here are the frags I picked up (and paid for) from makoj

beutiful frags! when did you get them? (i hope im not one of thoes people who miss the asked information 2 posts ago :D)

yeah, at radio shack they have a selection of thoes transformers, all with different power settings. im pretty sure i recall on ranging from around 1.5v to 12v with 5 selection in between.

so are you still planning the breakdown to treat for the flat worms?
